I think anything electronics related will be fine for the Freebie table.

Besides, perhaps the PIC could be slaved to a Propeller to handle minor tasks. :)

Should I bring a bag full of cash, or will the exhibitors/vendors accept checks and/or plastic?

OBC,
I will have my products available for sale at the expo.
I would like to let folks know I can only accept cash, check·and paypal.
I have know way to accept a credit card unless you use it to pay using paypal.

I will also have a BUNCH (as much as will fit on my table) of odd parts that I bought tons of and have no use for. I will be selling these really cheap.

Bean.

I can accept credit cards through Paypal during the event. There should be plenty of laptops around to do the transaction. Assuming that we have internet access. I am bringing the wireless router to plug in, so assuming we have a jack to plug into, we should be all set.

I can't speak for any other vendors that will be there, but I would not hesitate to accept a check from any forum members.

I will also accept checks from forums members for the entrance fee..
Rebekah will be ready for you at the top of the stairs at the entrance to the expo room.
Checks should be written out to ORRTECH.

Looks like I may have another Raffle prize to contribute. Also have some useful stuff leftover from past projects that will be in-expensive.

My two Propeller projects are going to be there as well as some other interesting things.

I'm hoping to get there around 9am on Saturday (depending upon traffic) so I hope I don't miss much.

I don't know if anyone else has asked but is there some sort of contact # for the facility?

I shouldn't be this excited ... it's not normal:) Let me be among first to thank you for having the idea and following through on it...

How about an auction...after dinner?

Seems like you are getting a lot of donations. I don't think it would upset anyone if you didn't just give the stuff away... and it would give some of the vendors another way to sell their stuff.

Ron...

I'm also driving in late Friday afternoon... no reservations...So not a clue where I'll end up. I'll be staying until Sunday afternoon.

I think there is a post meeting confab at one of the local eateries. So that is covered.

Maybe OBC could publish a central meeting place for everyone on Friday afternoon-night?

Engineering is both an art and a science... this looks like real art. Absolutely beautiful.

I was thinking about a case to put my project in for the meeting... and thinking ... "boy it would be nice if I could kludge together a clear plastic top so people could actually see the mishmash of wiring that passes for "good enough" at my house."

You might want to consider adding a housing for the PE Kit... would be great for schools.

Sorry guys, but you are on your own Friday night.. The expo crew will be leaving Orrville
Saturday morning around 6:30am to make sure we are in place when you want us. :)
So I won't be making the trip the night before..

There are several good places to eat near 250 outside of town, near the expo.

As for drawings, yes there are many items for ticket drawing and I think we'll keep
things as they are for now. I like the idea that many people will have the opportunity
to go home with neat toys this year.

Lunch is pepperoni pizza, delivered by the local the local Dominos. There will be soft-drinks
and bottled water, etc also available to expo goers.

Sorry, I don't have the resources for a dedicated AV link from the expo. :(

But, I will be attempting to setup a dedicated picture link. It should update
images from the Expo room to a website every 60 seconds or so.
I'm told that the same camera can be used to tape the demos at the same time.
So that makes two video cameras that will be recording video for later Youtube posting.

Also, sometime during the day, we'll try to get a Propeller with a PropNIC connected
to the #propeller irc room so people can say hello, and generally tease everyone else.

Oh, Youtube is all I meant. Live Streaming video is tough and the bandwidth costs a ton, just ask Twit live. Anyways, so the answer on posting videos on Youtube is a yes?

UStream seems to be a popular method of streaming to a large audience. All it seems to require is a PC and a compatiable camera/webcam. It uses your browser + a flash plugin for broadcast. Viewers can easily watch the stream by going to your ustream page (it also uses flash).

Harrison,

Looks pretty straightforward.. I'll have to do some bandwidth tests
and see how much it consumes, as well as see what the community
center is using for bandwidth. (I don't want to bring their network
to it's knees for the day. :) )

Looks like a good way to handle this, as soon as I get a cable I'll
setup a shop feed and do some testing.

Unless somebody else has a better idea, I will be in the lobby of the Econo Lodge at 6:00 on Friday evening. Anybody who wants to have a group supper can meet me there. I will be the chunky old guy with the gray beard and hat. If the hat is off, watch out for the sun reflecting off of my large bald spot !

OBC,

That is what MapQuest shows me too. Bear in mind that the last time I relied on MapQuest to find a motel it took me to the wrong location (or was that my GPS?). Anyway, that looks like where I will be at 6 and wait for maybe 10 minutes before leaving. I understand that there is a restaurant at the motel, and others not too far away.

Guys,

I've just done a head count (including my expo setup crew)
We are dangerously close to max occupancy for the expo room.
I'm afraid we're going to have to cut-off sign-ups as of this morning.

A couple people have signed up, and you have emails letting you
know that you have been added to the list. However the community
center has made it very clear that we need to hold it to 80 attendees.

Again, I'm blown away by the response from all of you! I never
expected more than 40 in my wildest expectation. Incredible.
