Just thought I would mention ... there is a 24/7 "Mels" diner
There is no such thing as "Mels". These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along...

((what the heck are you doing? You realize that you have just increased our Mel's Wait Time to "incalculable" . I think "they" will forget that you mentioned "Mels" at all...at least I can hope...can't I? Sheesh! I can't take you anywhere...))

    Well, Kiss my grits!
Don't spend all your cash here, save some for when I get back to Pismo this summer for Splash Cafe's Clam Chowder on the Beach at sunset.

Actually, two clarifications: 1: you mentioned there's another Clam Chowder that we should try, and 2) the "real show" comes AFTER sunset - as only the locals would know
    -Matt
No problem, I allways have Splash Cash...

    Clarifications:

1: "Pismo" means Clam in Chumash(local indian tribe), so there are at least a dozen different Clam chowders to try.
They have a Cook off every year during the summer, I will check the dates and let you know, You can enjoy clam chowder until you can't...

2: I'm sure when I mentioned the "real show after sunset" I was refering to a late mass, maybe a rosery, or perhaps a quick run thru of the stations of the cross...;)

    Matt,

There for a minute you had me thinking that Mels was no longer there... They have appreciated our business in the past. Since I usually get here a few days before the EXPO's I have always given them a heads-up that they might get a little busy.

    MattG,
I've already experienced Mel's a few times. It's great! I will not be forgetting. :)

Ok guys, it's confirmed! I will be there +1 or maybe +2.5 still not sure about that. I've started writing the long checklist and will begin preparations tomorrow. I was hoping to have a bit more to show, but .... NO. SLEEP. TILL ROCKLIN! Wait, I might need a little sleep. Plus I have homework to do. Oh well.
It's pretty much confirmed I will be bringing the whole rig too! *Well not the entire, entire, full setup. Just the "PropER Midi Synth *HW*," along with my guitar, keyboard, laptop and guitar amp! TOO MUCH STUFF! What's worse is if i don't get this stinkin usb issue fixed, I'll need my EXTRA pc with the midi interface. I keep meaning to order a midi2usb adapter, but the cheap ones suck and I can't afford the nice ones.
A side note, I still don't have reservations for a room. I will have to get on that now my ride is confirmed! I doubt they'll mind the current draw as much as the cool guys @ parallax. If I get the serial midi fixed by then, power requirements shouldn't be an issue. *Lightbulb* on to the propFourm b4 bed.

Joe - I have the older version of this I could bring up:

Is this a sucky one?

@DJ. That would work perfectly! I'm just hesitant to buy one because I use Midi Time Code and Midi Clock AND Midi Machine Code quite a bit and I've heard the devices less than about a $100 have a tough time keeping up. For note demo it will be fine.

Alrighty - it's in the suitcase. It does require a driver to be loaded on your 'puter...I have the CD.

I'll try to load the driver up before I leave from the webz but plz do bring the CD in case I don't get to that. I looked in my project case and shuddered at the thought of showing it. It was pretty gross looking, and I do need to make slight modifications... So with a week to go, I have completely dis-assembled the project box and am in the process of re-painting the inside. It will not be perfect since I'm lacking the proper tools, as always. It will look better than it did.. Here's a pic!

So what's the weather forecast for next week and weekend? How much activity is outdoor vs indoor?

Right now the forecast is a 70% chance of rain on Friday and 30% chance on Sat.
But I'm thinking positive. We have multiple large tents outside, and UPEW is inside anyway.
Everybody think positive and we'll be fine. Right?
    Right?

It needs an anemometer on top to make it a foul-weather Propeller beanie.

Everyone at Expo is gonna be better rested than me. I'm driving up early Friday morning, blasting out of LA at 2 am to arrive ~10 am. Rental car floored the whole way. Don't get between me & Rockin! Plus, I have to leave by noon Saturday to be home by 8. That's the dealio with wifey & twins.

So I hope Staybridge is rockin' all Friday night. I'm not driving 840 miles in 40 hours just to go to bed early! I'm gonna retrofit some plywood & relays on some folks' robots...

I can deal with minimal sleep. What worries me is carrying all the stuff I'm bringing to Expo from the car if I'm parking some distance away. How much payload can them ELEV-8's carry?

    Who's coming to Expo?

Me and my six giant relays are coming. Just arrived today from Ebay China. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-OMRON-MY2NJ-J-MY2N-MY2-HH52P-L-DC-12V-8PIN-5A-Power-Relay-Coil-DPDT-/350547018820?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519e3b0444 They have a beautiful bright green LED onboard, should make for a great light show. I wanna build one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xZP7p7Zpe4

Heck, the code is right there. How long could it take to build, an hour?

Now where did I leave my plywood?

Well the wind has caused me to stop painting as usual. I got the bottom and front of the case done but the top needs a couple more coats. I put almost everything together. Here's a pic of the project now, as well as one of my "spray booth"

Thanks for thinking of me! I have a few Fry's down here in God's Country, too.

BTW, I'm driving up from LA, not flying into Sacramento. TSA wouldn't like the stuff I'm bringing!

Well we are here at the Staybridge. I just finished changing my ELEV-8 over to 72mHz so that I can carry my 2.4 gHz camera for FPV flying. Seems to work okay after a brief flight in the room. We'll probably head over to Parallax soon to see if there is anything we can help with.
