    W9GFO,
I'll bring my eMaker Huxley, and assuming my Replicator gets here in time, I'll bring that too.

There's always cool stuff to buy and bring home from the expo. Ray, Bill, Nick, and others all have goodies.

Do we know if these guys will be there?

What about Phil and Steve (jazzed)?

How about that other really cool forum member I forgot to mention, are you going to be there?

I'm leaning towards driving now. I've got too much stuff I'd want to bring to pack it on an airplane.

I've got to bring my RC helicopter so I can claim some of those prizes. Now I've got to figure out how to get my robot arm attached to the thing.

I've also got to get my mecanum wheeled beast so it can follow lines (not just drive in figure 8s).

Duane is talkin' bizness about now. I think we might just have him as a guest. I guess he really wants to drive across Idaho and Nevada, through places like Jackpot, Elko, Winnemucca. This takes some determination and he's set a high bar for other forum members.

Phil, is there a change of heart yet?

I dunno. The broken foot has to heal first, and we'll see how the S2 badges turn out. I'd be persona non grata down there if the production run has any glitches. And the old Benz still needs new ball joints. Yada, yada, yada.

You forgot to mention Reno, where my transplanted heart is from.

    Speaking of which. . .

Is Phil on a waiting list? I hope he gets a good one too.

Edit: Phil, this post would have been funnier if you hadn't posted while I was writing it.

It sounds like fun, but it's a long way from Boston so I will pass.

Phil, sorry to hear about your foot. I hope it heals soon.

@Duane, it was very funny and I laughed out loud.
@Phil, S2 PCBs ship Friday. I'll be in PT by Tuesday to collect the other foot if these things don't work out. It's important that we get started on the right foot.

Nooo! Not the right foot, too! That's my gas pedal and brake foot! I need that to drive!

I might end up on one if I see Ken at my door on Tuesday with a hacksaw (or Jen with her ax).

I'd like to suggest that parallax try to set dates for next years events by December 1st.

December 1st seems a bit arbitrary. Parallax announced the expo here on January 6th, over four months in advance.

erco- I'll sweeten the pot... Just for you...

Since you're so full of hot-air on these Forums, I'll offer you several "pontificating sessions"* where you can espouse and bequeath all of your robotic knowledge to all the kids that'll be coming - just to see and experience, "The Legendary erco"...

Wasamatta? scared? stage-fright? afraid? Get off your "Forbidden Planet" and get up here!

    -Matt

'pop' ...ball's in your court buddy...

I could never resist your manifold charms, Obi-Matt-Kenobi ! Speaking of hot air, I still owe Ken his Flame Boe-r, too. Will have that 4 Expo. Got marshmallows?

My wife and I are really excited about coming! I don't think we'll be able to bring any robots since we'll be flying from Iowa, but I'll bring a couple of videos. Mainly I'm just excited to meet people and learn as much as I can. These things are always so inspiring! :)

+1! Will be nice to meet all the Forumistas.

Forget real names, our badges should have Forum names & avatars so we know who's who!

I agree! Or maybe we should get t-shirts with our avatars? It always messes me up when people change their avatars...

BTW erco another great article in ROBOT Magazine, just got mine today

Real name should be there - so that other non-forumistas don't think you're all completely whacked. But including Forum names and avatars (if possible - we got so much to do between now and then - but we'll see what we can do) - I think that's a great idea :-)

Two weeks - 11 states - in my Toyota Corolla!

By the way - are there going to be ELEV-8 races? I'd love to see that!

Good thing you don't have a clutch!

Broke my left foot two years ago. Than GOD for automatic transmissions!

I'm with Martin. Last time I did a cross country trip (round trip) from Connecticut to California, it cost $2400 dollars. Gas is not any cheaper now.

We have been screaming for a UEPE for East, East coast. :)

Actually, I do have a clutch. Fortunately, there's room enough under the dash for the Frankenboot to operate it, so I can drive short distances before it gets painful or too annoying. But I would not be driving at all if it had been the right foot -- too dangerous.

There will be an UAV contest. It's one of a couple of contests Parallax is sponsoring.

I don't have a quadcopter (yet) but I'm considering bringing my helicopter to compete.

I think Parallax might just spring for warm cokes, mac & cheese and gas for an old yellow school bus shuttling all the east coast Forumistas out to the Expo. Starts in FL (gwjax) to LA (Whit) to SC (doggiedoc) to NY (graffix & jay kickliter) to CT (Publison) to MA (Martin_H) to Chicago (prof_braino) to Iowa (peter & vanmunch) to MN (tymkrs) to Idaho (Duane) to WA (PhiPi) to Rocklin. Talk about an adventure, everyone fighting over access to the one & only 12V ciggie lighter outlet (AKA power point). Getting there is half the fun!

And everyone can crash at Matt G's house!

    Who's with me?

Sounds like we have enough people for a charter Gulfstream G5. I'll forgo the mac and cheese for that!

Heck, that makes it sound like I'm practically next door.

I don't think I've seen any news about Gordon. He has got to be going. You can't have a robot party without Gordon McComb.

I seem to remember talk of renting a conference room for an all night soldering session?

    Did that ever materialize?

    Where is everyone staying?

IIRC, I think the Staybridge Suites was the happening place.

I know my wife likes to stay on the top floor of hotel/motels since there isn't anyone walking around (or jumping and dancing) above us. I'll likely try for a top floor room unless others will be on a different floor.

Those not crashing at Matt's (it's good to know that's an option), where are you staying?
