if anyone wants to make a String to MCVBEET1 object here is a lookup table. It is not an exact duplication. UNICODE and caps has been removed with ASCII altered to make the max length fit in 16bits.

    $AABBCCCC
    A=ASCII Equivalent
    B=Length-1
C=Bit Sequence shifted to align on least significant bit.
The first 3 are not true ASCII characters

    $000F8001 - end
    $010F8000 - ascii
    $020B080E - shift
    $0D0E4001
    $20080102
    $240D2002
    $250D2003
    $2C0B080F
    $2E0B0802
    $300A0406
    $310D2004
    $320D2005
    $330D2006
    $340D2007
    $350D2001
    $360D200C
    $370D200D
    $380D200E
    $390D200F
    $4103000B
    $42050001
    $43040009
    $44040015
    $45020007
    $46040002
    $47050023
    $48030006
    $4903000D
    $4A090207
    $4B060041
    $4C040014
    $4D040001
    $4E03000C
    $4F030009
    $50050021
    $51090202
    $52030005
    $53030007
    $54020001
    $55040008
    $56050000
    $57040003
    $58090206
    $59050022
    $5A090201

    Example:
    String: Hello World
    ASCII:
    0100100001100101011011000110110001101111001000000101011101101111011100100110110001100100 00000000 (88+8 bits)
    MCVBEET1:
    10000000111001101111010010100100110000001010000000111000011100101011010010101 1000000000000001 (77+16bits)

MCVBEET1 takes a big hit when letters are capitalized but even with 2 caps it is 11bits shorter the terminator is 8 bits longer then ASCII string so it only saves 3 bits in this short example but with longer sentences it can save a lot.

I went through all the code and understand it better but one thing I was wondering about is if I create a file do I just treat it like a long and stick one number or string in it, or is there a way to lengthen it and choose what part of the file to access? Please explain, it is necessary for my projects.

short answer you can read any part of a file seqentially.

the wav player will show you how to read values in a specific expected order. if you want random i would make different files.

what im thinking for my robot is to save files like phone numbers, such as 1000 could refer to blackfoot where i live and 100 could refer to my neighborhood and 10 refers to my home. For each of these locations i would save the gps coordinates x to x and y to y that specifies this area. when the bot starts up it finds the coordinates of its current location and checks 1000, 2000, et cettera to find a match and goes down the list. when it reaches the end I want it to be able to find the coordinates of the obstacles for that area, such as my house and chicken coop and all the fencing and trees, then use them to make a map of where it should go to get to its destination. once this is figured out, it will go ahead and go there.

for my gg project it won't be so complicated, so knowing how to do this will make the other project easy.

sounds like a cool project. don't forget gps is only accurate to 3m or so. you can make more accurate though by measuring distance to known obstacle and keeping track of your movements.

I was thinking of having something like a haze area or whtvr, which would just add a couple feet or so and mark it as an area to avoid or if necessary approach slowly and use sensors to find the obstacles actual loction. I'm also hoping to let it tell the difference from animals and objects using ir heat sensors.

    complicated:

is @buff1 the location in the file (1 to whtvr) and buffsize the amount of info to read at that location?
