Hey, it was 100% plywood from the get-go when Ken masterminded it!

    http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?118838-Robotics-Base-for-the-12V-Motor-Mount-Wheel-Kit-(27971)-and-Caster-Wheel-(28971&p=869245

I can't be held responsible for questionable evolution along the product cycle!

@Matt: I guarantee there was plywood used in Robby and B9...

Look deep inside yourself. You know it to be true!

Don't sweat the name erco, you know matt is going to ship you one for your birthday anyway. just for spite
Just use it for a scribe pattern on some marine grade 5/8" and then you will have a real platform,
One that is worthy of the name "ercobot"...

In the mean time, you're stuck with "Paragon", Don't fight it, You must bend like a tree in the wind...
    Parallax Paragon
    Propeller Paragon
    Basic Stamp Paragon

Each one a "Model of perfection and excellence"... :thumb:

"Ticket for what You pay for"
    That works too... :)

Which translator do you use Sapieha?
what does the word "reciept" translate into?

Localization is difficult and awkward sometimes. so many ways to offend and confuse with just a word...

@Tommy: You're exactly right! Matt is a real gentleman (please don't tell him I said that). Long ago, I received a giant box from Matt; he sent me a beautiful white robot base. I grudgingly have to admit it's quite nice. But to keep our feigned online banter going, I sent him some pics (attached here) to "thank" him for his kindness. It's a robot base, cutting board and (Jason Dorie) clock, all in one!

Yummy, what an excellent and much more practical use for plastics.

Run your pencil around all the edges and Jig Saw your way to something far more usefull and sturdy, and not so prone to melting...

So true. Just don't make the mistake Chevy did with one of their cars and call it the "Nova." "No va" means "doesn't go" in Spanish.

... let's just say that "ercobot" is NOT what we're looking for....

    Okay.... Okay..... I've got it:

    Erco-a-go-go

Except you'll have to change its wheels to plywood go-go boots.

Thanks for that Sapieha, how is "Kvitto" pronounced?...
Now I wonder what is the Polish word for Paragon? never mind, that is for another thread.

    -Tommy

P.S. @ElectricAye, I cut out a set of those "boot wheels" for a school play about 10 years ago, They looked just like what you posted.
I remember that they were very noisy..

    Hi Ttailspin.

"Kvitto" pronounced -> with short "t"

Paragon = Polish -> Doskonaly - BUT "l" have little extra cant line (-) in middle and voice as "w" in English

Parallax Doskonaly... yeah, I could see that on the side of the shipping crate...not sure it really has the same "ring" as Parallax Paragon..

    What do you think?

Now that IS an "ercobot"... and how things should be, except for the stamp, I am partial to the Propeller.

    -Tommy

Phil, that would require substantial re-engineering... :)

AUTOBOT - Autonomous BOT - similar to the BOEBOT name thus keeps the "family" name.

    MRP - MOBILE ROBOTIC PLATFORM

BRP - BASIC ROBOTIC PLATFORM (pronounced BURP)

MFP - Multi Function Platform - I'm trying to resist the impluse to just start shotgunning.
