Riffing off Andrew, Discovery is a great name. It describes the journey of discovery the builder will go on as he builds the bot!!

Diskovery sounds neat & kinda Russian, but the spelling would be nuttin' but trouble downstream.

How about "Opportunity"? It not only honors one of the Mars rovers, but defines what the product represents to the customer.

Yep, any of the rover or shuttle names are great choices. Sojourner, Spirit, Challenger, Enterprise, Alamo, Hertz, Dollar...

Voyager is good, too. From the cartoon version of "Fantastic Voyage" with Buzby...

ROVER is good too, although mayhaps a bit too obvious.

Parallax Pioneer has some nice alliteration working for it. Satellite name's a plus.

    Also Parallax Pathfinder.

Parallax Pingo... with 10 all Pings aboard, it's a natural. Kinda pithy, too.

    Parallax Paramount

    Parallax Paragon

    Parallax Passage

Vector, Vectoria, Vektor (again, Russian but cool)

That reminds me of the comet Hyakutake which passed about ten times closer to earth one year earlier than the more well known Hale-Bopp.

JANUS: In ancient Roman religion and mythology, Janus is the god of beginnings and transitions,[1] thence also of gates, doors, doorways, endings and time. Most often he is depicted as having two heads, facing opposite directions: one head looks eastward and the other westward. Symbolically they look simultaneously into the future and the past, back at the last year and forward at the new.

This platform is certainly a beginning, and 10 Pings is eerily like 2 heads looking forward & back!

I see erco is a nimble-fingered subscriber to the "Infinite Monkey Theorem".

So when Parallax gets around to building a kit that bangs on a typewriter 24/7, please put my suggestion in the hat with all the rest: The Ercobot.

My only question: can plywood take that kind of punishment?
