But Baggers, you just told me about it in a PM :) Will certainly prove to be an amazing demo and I look forward to being part of the action. Between your surprise, my robot (doh) and the gobs of free boards we're going to hand out people are certain to have an amazing time! So thrilled that you'll be joining us!
Yes, I know Ken, :) Hope you don't let the cat out of the bag, otherwise I'd have to kill you muwhahahahaaaaa ( lol ) Yeah, I'm looking forward to being at Eindhoven, and glad to be joining you there. :D
Fantastic Baggers. I know other things you have done so this is sure to be a great thing for you and for the prop community as a whole - exposure and other newbies for sure.

I've got people so in awe of the Propeller now that I had one customer suggest that I could use it to do this new job. The job? Replace PCs that are recording HD camera video onto SD as MP4 with a 2 hour runtime etc for use in helicopters! Ok, I think the Prop is an awesome microcontroller, but it's not an embedded PC, I would use an ARM9 for that type of thing. But there you go Baggers, stuffing it all up by wowing them and making them think that Propellers will put the whole embedded world into a big Spin. When it comes to controllers, forget soft-core, forget hard-core, go Multi....core!
Come on, spill the beans Baggers, you know you want to. Either way we will keep on taunting you, you big tease.
Thanks Clusso99 :D hopefully it will bring some more prop-newbies in from the show.
Lol Peter, yeah I know a few who think like that also, lol, and sorry, I've got to try and keep a lid on it, for maximum effect at the show. :)
Yep. Today I overheard my boss explaining to a customer that we are soon going to be running our embedded application on a credit card sized micro-controller board. This is after I had shown him some things that a Propeller can do. Never mind that this app needs many 10's of megabytes of RAM, networking, a decent file system and 96 I/Os is written in Pascal and C and currently runs under Linux on an industrial PC.
These demos are getting to good :)

For me, the past is not over yet.
All good, from where I stand. The chip is just great! The more the merrier, even if we have a few stumble in with expectations too high. The majority won't do that.
So Baggers... one prop, or two?
:)
Just think of the fun we are going to have asking Jim goofy questions, knowing he's sitting on his hands, trying to decide if actually getting anything done is worth the risk of slipping!!
Baggers said...
OBC, AVR has tried, and SX has tried, I'm not showing examples, as that will give it away, ( nice try though :D )
Hmm...· like Potatohead, I would be guessing it maybe has to do with raycasting.···It would certianly be a good use of the 'fat pixel' driver ;)
I think the thing could actually render DOOM at some reasonable rate and resolution. Say, 160 x 96 15FPS. Bet it could happen. Where to put the data though?
Ok, so the scope is smaller, and that's just an evil clue! The fat pixel driver???
Well, now I have to go look at the thing closer for possibilities...
OBC, potatohead is right when he says it's a demo of a game.
potatohead, it could probably render it, well for starters, there's the map data, then the textures, not to mention your 160x96 res screen would take a whopping 15K before you do anything else, code, tvdrivers, renderers, textures, would love to see it done though.
Nick, no, my Avatar was from 3D Monster Maze that I did, from the ZX81.
...maybe a coupla props then. It is a lot of data. Maybe dynamically drawn. I think it was Andre' who thought a DOOM or lower end WOLF3D renderer was possible.

PS And thanks for running the raffle a few days ago. I will assemble my Schartboard that I won once I get my new solder station.

You are going to love it though I'm 100% certain of that.
It is pure retro and I'll be surprised if more than a handful have never seen it before.
And I've seen it in action and already at this early stage it's great!
