Well, I guess Dr. Jim didn't have enough time to get the mic input implemented for AI, so Parallax spent a day and whipped this out:

Just kidding of course. :)

I must just be stressed out about the Expo and all. smile.gif

You are young (and promising, electronically speaking), have not learned spelling but you already know the stress ... something is wrong here !!!

Don't worry, be happy, enjoy your youth without too many thoughts. You have so many years in front of you to become really stressed smilewinkgrin.gif

PS. Others have corrected your spelling errors. I cannot allow me, I am worse than you

"Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert! ... Deck One, Propeller Forum!"

-·don't you·feel like·we're on the Starship Enterprise, with the alarm sounding?

No?

It seems·like we've been invaded by Malred the A.I' Bot - or maybe he's not a bot, but·the real (but not Dr.)·McCoy.

I, for one, feel like we·all are being used here.

Why?

Again, I have to say,·it would be astounding if Mr.Malred, et. al. have a business plan. And it would be more astounding if that plan were able to convince·investors. (Sure, some inexperienced or technically naive investor, but virtually no venture capital firm would touch this - in *any* economy. ·Then again, see the prime example of possible bamboozlement in the A.I. area via the link Localroger posted in this thread ca pg 5-7.)

Why can I say that with confidence?

Simple deduction.· If you (the investor) don't understand something, then·you ask for advice from those who do understand that something. Further, if it were a significant investment, you would ask for multiple opinions. If the opinions made enough sense and the plan looked feasible, then you would enter into trade-off and risk calculations. If you can manage the risk, you go for it.··In my *opinion*, Mr.Malred, et.al.·are not getting the wanted -and required - opinions that will support their aims, allowing it to move forward.·

Consider this big red flag: WE collectively HAVE that knowledge to judge this (ad)venture correctly. These threads stand as a testiment.

((Also, as an aside, it·has been mentioned: if this were such a big ticket item, why is Mr. Malred spending a large amount of time here?· To be nice to us, to be nice to Prop users?· To Promote the Prop? If they really wanted to help us and promote the prop, why don't they just put together a few well produced webinars that explain how to do all their cool stuff.·They *should have* the money to do this. And the money to free up Mr. Malred from posting here.·If nothing else, Mr. Malred's management skills are questionable - he should hire subordinates to post and market... he should spend his more valuable time concentrating on the business working.· But I suspect it's NOT working, so he's here ... but not just because he's got time on his hands.))

So why do I feel like we are being used here?

This is not intended as ridicule - and certainly not intended to slight Mr. Malred, et. al. But I am concerned that Mr. Malred is taking all of OUR input, all of our responses here,·as working examples of what rightfully concerned and technically advised investors might COUNTER to their proposals. Perhaps he wants to prepair·to be able respond with technically convincing arguements.·· We are giving him just that, aren't we?

Think about this: we have all been noticing and pointing out Mr. Malreds lack of professionalism - and his somewhat sarcastic tone at many stages... and yet we keep wondering: " WHY is he doing this -·it makes no sense·- isn't he shooting himself in the foot ? "

There is only ONE plausible explanation for why he is doing this: he wants to taunt us to keep us coming back for more·- coming back with replies that unwittingly contribute to his plan.

IMO, we should stop responding and let this thread and any others arising just fall off.· And if we are all wrong about our suspicions and they do come out with a working AI platform?· Great!· More power to them - and us.·

I don't mind being wrong, humbled, or chagrined - especially when I'm wrong in a big way.

If this *speculation* on my part is correct, however, then this old saw really does apply:

Caveat Emptor!

This thread is too long to completely follow, but at the risk of being redundant I'll point out that there has been some significant AI and Neural Network projects involving the Lego Mindstorm/NXT for several years, so certainly some of these aspects can be accomplished (ie they already have).· Porting that work to the Propeller platform should not be a massive undertaking.

Some examples:
A neural network for Java Lego robots
Generation 5

But I agree, the way MIT has presented themselves here makes you wonder.

> So why do I feel like we are being used here?

WRONG!
Its not us who are used, it is:
Ms Allred
Mr Allred

The roles in this commedy ... sorry drama:
Miss Alred has got some money, but she realized it won't be enough 'till the end of here days.
Mr. Allred has no money (She's the BOSS!), and he's got no clue about technical things. But he is really fascinated about them.

By chance, Mr. Allred met Dr. Jim in some bar (no name given to protect the innocent). Dr. Jim already lost all of his money in filing a bunch of useless patents. He took the chance to convince Mr. Allred that he has THE master-plan. Mr. Allred, completely convinced by the shere amount of buzzwords in return convinced his wife Ms. Allred (she's only in knitting and patchwork) about the great idea and the incredbile amounts of money they will earn.

And that's how it started.
Mr. Allred still is blindly relaying on Dr. Jim who is spending most of his time to construct other farts ... sorry buzz ... and thinking of ways how to keep the money flowing (in his direction, by all means).

Now kids, it's time to go to bed. And tomorrow (or any other day) this bubble will burst.

I think that the members of this forum have been extraordinarily kind to mallred and MIT in light of what they are claiming for the wares they are peddling.· When someone walks up to you and offers in all seriousness to sell you something for mere hundreds of dollars more than it is worth because it will real soon now be capable of doing things that billions of dollars in investment have failed to do, and when our requests for detail are met with stonewalling, hand-waving, and "because I said so," how else are we supposed to react?
