Hey guys, all this MachineIntelligence baiting should stop. It's clagging up the forum and giving far too much coverage to, well, nothing much yet.

I look forward to KISS and it's AI taking on Cessnapilot's Texas Hold'em on the Prop when they are ready. May the best man/machine win.

Oh yeah, that's a challenge by the way. Are we allowed to run a book on these forums?

Guys, machine intelligence is wide open. I invite any of you to invent your own version of machine intelligence and compete directly with us.
Given that you haven't actually demonstrated anything, this is not much of a challenge.· I hereby proclaim that I have created the first working Propeller AI operating system, SentientSativa.··Independant analysis proves that it has twice the cognition of KISS at half the price.

mallred said...
As far as I know, we are the only ones claiming anything of substance that is workable
No longer - see above.· Really though, claims mean nothing without repeatible results.· As a scientist, Dr. Jim ought to know that.· You are squarely in cold fusion category.

mallred said...
Even then I know we will be recieved skeptically
I am glad you are preparing yourselves for the inevitable.· I agree with your postulation - I wager that what most people will view as "doesn't work" will be countered as "errors and mistakes are necessary for the AI learning process".

mallred said...
Mabe we roll things out too early. That's probably true. So what. That only gives our followers a heads up and the ability to work with our products early. What's the harm in that, (other than you did not create it)?
Provided you don't mind looking like fools, nothing.· But a real, informative blog or similar publication with examples and results might be a better method to provide your "followers" with your progress (speaking of which, that sounds a little cultish).

mallred said...
By the way, it took a whole day to get the RUN command working. It's working now. Geez Dr. Jim is fast.
That begs the question, why did you even bother to release it the way you did?·You couldn't wait 24 hours to provide your first rollout with the ability to run code?· It's not like it does much else.

mallred said...
Polish can come later. Same for professionalism.
That speaks volumes.

I missed that it was already done.

The user manual is a bit hard to fathom as it is yet to be polished and done professionally.

I suggest a new company slogon based on mallred's comments here:· "Unfinished, Unpolished and Unprofessional"

edit -

You know, it's really too bad.· This could be an exciting field, but they certainly are not giving it the level of seriousness a project of this nature deserves.· They are doing themselves a great disservice.

Yes, and for your own future reference, a minimum requirement for maintaining a professional image is good spelling and grammar: viz. "there buissness" vs. "their business". Master it while you're young. It doesn't get easier with age.

There's a line between criticism and ridicule. Certain posts here have crossed that line, but none so far as co-opting MIT's own logo for the purpose of mockery. Seriously, guys, it's okay to criticize or even take someone to task, but good manners must prevail in the end.

The logo needs to come down.

I really do hope they succeed! I've wanted my own sentient robot since I was like 4...used to glue the old used soup cans and plastic containers together to make a "robot", then "all I need is a computer, and some motors!". I was sooo close! Anyway, if they do succeed, I will be among the first (after proof wink.gif to purchase some of their hardware as a supporting gesture.

Speaking of the logo, to me even picking a company name where the initials used are M.I.T. is a little on the shady side. "I do AI research at MIT!"....uh huh.

It is fun to post on here. You guys crack me up. Anyway, our image was purchased, so rest assured, we did actually spend a few dollars on it. And since we did, it is ours. Thanks for the courtesy of taking it down, because we do own it (or rather, have the right to use it). It's pretty cool, huh? Have to admit. Not a bad pic.

Anyway, the run command is working. I think some of you missed that.

Oh, and by the way, I do believe in professionalism where it matters. You, the chattering class, don't matter. But thanks for the publicity. You guys have been responsible for more than one or two sales I believe. So thanks :)

All kidding aside, we are serious about machine intelligence. <snicker>Dr. Jim is hard at work trying to duct tape a microphone to the propeller, so don't worry about that. It will be able to hear you.</snicker> No, but he is working on a pair of ears for voice recognition. I think he is even going as far as building some circuitry for it.

One thing he is not is a quitter. We keep on a chuggin'...

Will it be like a Demo Board mic arrangement? It will have to have something to listen to sound waves.

Most of the people here claim being a "technechal group" but it seems that this discussion is going nowhere technechal. (don't say that "technechal" is spelled wrong, I've had enough of that today)
