FWIW, I'll be arriving Friday afternoon/evening, staying at the Staybridge Suites, and will have a car if anyone needs a ride (I can fit 4 more bodies).

Bean - Looking forward to seeing you! I'm leaving on Saturday afternoon, so hopefully our paths will cross before then!

Really excited about the weekend :)

Hi Earl-

Actually, I meant giving a ride from the hotel to Parallax. I won't be able to pick people up at the airport, etc. My plans are too tight. Sorry!

I made up 60+ goodie bags to sell as "grab bags" with the intent of being able to pick up a proto board on Saturday. Unfortunately, my plans were changed and I won't be able to be there very long. However, I would still like to make these available to people as I think they make a great Propeller accessory kit. So, is anyone interested in adding these "grab bags" to their selling table? Half of the proceeds can be yours and the other half can be used to buy Parallax product to be left in will call for me to pick up on Monday (I work a 1/2 mile from Parallax).

Got it covered, THANKS!!

PM me if you are interested, here's what's in the bags. I was thinking only $2 a bag so they go fast. Everything is new.

Clockwise from top:
1 Set of RCA AV Cables
Panel Mount 2.1mm DC power jack with Red/Yellow leads (and 2mm connector)
1 Stereo to Stereo headphone patch cable
1 DVE 12V 3.33A Power Brick
1 Set of 8W, 4ohm speakers with 2mm connector (very good sound)
1 Wyse PS2 Trackball Mouse
2 DC Power Connector Cables, 2.1mm, with stripped ends
In the center:
Mini USB cable
IR Remote from a JPEG/MPEG viewer

I will also be selling my Sensirion Modules while I am there.

I have a suggestion. Anyone who is looking for a ride, or can provide a ride should display a propeller beany picture so we can recognize each other.

I will most likely be renting a car. I will tape a beany picture on the side window and wait briefly at the airport doors to see if anyone needs a ride. I'd suggest that others do the same. If you are looking for a ride, put a beany picture on your bag or somewhere we can see it.

You can print it on one half of the page, fold it over and stick it in an open zipper on your bag.

I'll be looking for beany pictures everywhere I go...

Bean.

Wow - I must say there's some serious excitement building around here. The Parallax crew is rolling out the red carpet for this event with food, facilities, vendor areas and many of you as speakers. I've also heard bits and pieces of advance information from a few forum members who have some great show-and-tell for UPEW that has been withheld from the forums. Even a few South Carolina folks arrived today and were looking for some activities at the office. Boxes of neat kits have arrived from uController.com and Mountain King (the acrylic enclosures). I think the others are bringing their products by vehicle or airplane. I can see that there will be some really nice expo goodies to take home from the vendors. Haven't seen what Gadget Gangster is bringing, but I think it would be a good idea to bring some cash for purchasing from these guys. We were running low on Parallax Propeller hardware today, so our warehouse manager was pulling some raw materials from the racks this evening for some kitting tomorrow morning.

Several suppliers have decided to pitch in on raffle stuff, too: SchmartBoard, ImageCraft, Parallax, uController, etc. I'll leave it up to OBC on how to administer that part.

As for me, I'm headed to the "junk bin of Parallax" right now to flood the give-away table with neat stuff. I need to await direction from OBC on how to do that, though. We both know that it'll all be scooped pretty quickly, so we may have to filter it out in stages throughout the day on Saturday.

Haven't heard much from Chip today. Better call him to remind him about the weekend :) It's "open season" on questions for Chip this weekend, BTW. He's got some primitive speech synthesis underway and we'll need to get him to talk about it on Saturday. I think the freebie kits that we put together include the key components for audio generation, too.

See all of you very soon at Parallax.

@ Christoffer

We've got one event planned in Netherlands at the Phillips center in November. It's run by Elektor but will be influenced by us as much as possible.

I think you're in Eastern Europe if I'm not mistaken. We can come there too if we have some help with arrangements. We only need a location and somebody to help us get the local technical community to attend.

Ugg!!!! I know of one thing that has been withheld from the forums and that one thing I left up in Everett (I am in Seattle), now I have a 50 mile round trip before we even leave. Can't say for sure if it's one of the things Ken was alluding to though.

I had two-thirds a roll of raffle tickets left from UPENE 2008, so I
just sent Rebekah out for another roll.

Items donated as giveaways are being added to the raffle
with tickets for $1.00 each. All raffle money raised is to be
given to the American Red Cross.

Ugh, not only am I unable to be there, but the Webinar is about 5am on a Sunday morning Perth time and I'm just moving into a new house with no net connection until Wednesday so I can't even borrow a laptop and do that. It's a conspiracy I say!
