I checked with Mick, the buiding guy. He says that we have 5 or 6 long tables. We have wiring for ethernet throughout the building... with nothing hooked up to it right now.
HOLY COW! I'm starting to get into EXPO HIGH GEAR! :)
Lanyards and Nametags are expected to be dropped on my doorstep in a day or two.
(This means that if you want a PRINTED nametag, signup now! :)
Just got off the phone with Jimmy's and PapaJohns. (Lunch and Dinner)
Both are ready to bring a TON of great food!
Confirmed wireless signal with my "man on the ground" (rjo) and if I bring my little "hacked"
router, we can snag it and have some ethernet jacks for folks to plug into as well.
Getting pumped! Can't wait to see all of you the weekend after next!
I'm getting into high gear as well! Can't wait to go! Only about a week left.......
It's a shame my RFID box met it's untimely demise...... I can still bring my NETpad project.
I was faced with not being able to come because my car broke down, but I just bought a new car, and I'm back on track. Phew.
My project will be with me for sure. There aren't any rocket launches between now and then for me to destroy it. It might not survive the following weekend, though.
I just registered and did a separate post for a car pool ride from Phoenix. I just hope I have three riders before all the rooms are gone. My car is available but if you are coming from Texas or New Mexico and have room PM me.

Just to clarify... You have time to get to UPEW.. The Rocklin Expo is end of June, the UPEC (Chicagoland, Ottawa) is next weekend. It sounds like you are carpooling to UPEW?
Where is parking located for the expo building?· I tried to figure it out from the sattelite images and it appears as though parking is about a block away?
If that is the case, I am going to have to come up with a better idea of getting the machine into the facility - could be a long walk carrying that thing.
I get parking details posted ahead of time this week.
@Chris: Ottawa is one of those small towns where everyone knows everyone.. I doubt well have too many
problems finding a way to park your vehicle for loading/unloading. :)
It looks like I might have the opportunity to destroy my Prop-based rocket telemetry* project the day after UPEC. There's a high power rocket launch in Walcott, IA (the "Crown Jewel" of launch fields, about 2 hours away):

and the weather for Sunday is supposed to be quite good. This trip is shaping up nicely.
* Okay, the Prop part stays on the ground, so it'll be fine regardless of what happens to the rest.
Sadly, my wife will not let me detour to the rocket launch.· She says (probably rightly so) that it is too dangerous to our pocket book for me to even see one of these in person.· The one we saw on the local PBS was too close a call for her comfort...
Now, you should be able to parlay that frugality into a little more relatively inexpensive electronics gear. "After all, honey, it's not like I'm burning $200 worth of this stuff up like those rocket guys do on a typical launch day. If I spend $200 on stuff, I'll still have my stuff at the end of the weekend".

Walking there? Hardly! We are going to Hunington (family), then to Cincinnati to a musem for a day, then to Chicago for 3 to 4 days, then to Ottawa for the expo. This is our family vacation for this year.
However, we may have 1 less day in Chicago due to some freak breaking our window and stealing our GPS. No one to fix it until tomorrow at 2, so will be delayed in Chicago, but I at least will still make it to the UPEC!
Looking forward to the event. I've never been to one before, so the parking map and time to arrive if we're exhibiting is very helpful. If we are planning on setting things up to show are there any other plans we need to make? I'll have two table top sized items, the Turing Machine and Nickle-O-Matic.
Looking forward to meeting new people and seeing new things.
We have 15+ tables (as of today) Which is usually enough space for everyone to get setup.
(Too many more and we start to really sacrifice room for guests. :)

Sounds good. I'm actually bringing something this time so I guess I'll need a few feet of table.
Save us a table, OBC! I've got some great Propeller kits that three little Gracey boys would like to sell (two of mine; one of Chip's).
I really look forward to seeing everybody's projects and to hear about what we can do better for our customers.
PLUS, I have some great stuff for the JUNK TABLE! If shipping were not an issue I would have sent a partial container (the 40-foot kind). :)

I'll still take last minute signups via email, however I need to halt the engine so that we can create name badges early next week.
Thanks!
