8x8 LED Matrix

I was able to pick up 4 8x8 LED Dual Color LED Matrix blocks on eBay.· The only problem is they didn't come with instructions on how to wire them up.
They have two sets of 12 pins on opposite sides and the following writting on the one edge:TOM-1088DGC-B along with a stamped 33R.
The leds came with 4 chips· MC14094BCP which are to be used to add additional pin outputs to control the leds.
What I want to do with these leds is create a larger version of the Robolympics Medal display for a gift and set it up to either display a scrolling message or something like the Magic 8 Ball example I have seen for the Robolympics.
Does anyone have an idea on how to wire these up to an SX28AC/DP-G?· Can I use the 4 MC14094s or should I use some other output pin diriver?
I am new to electonics but love this site and the Basic Stamp.· I have several of the books that I am using to learn how to use these chips and programs for my model railroad hobby and overall fun/learning.· I use to program in basic and Dbase in the 80s and can work out most of the basic code but am not as familar with using registers and pin variables along with the shift registers, and other commands.· I am learning though and having a great time in the process.
Well, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Roy

Now for the harder part - how do I program these for a moving display?

I have a few other LED Matrix projects if you do a search on my name you will find them. Currently I am working with an 8x40 display using 5 of those modules and A6821 serial chips to the SX chip (SX-28) but not going well - I'll get it. I am also working on another RGB version of a large 8x8 LED matrix and controller board from SparkFun. Really cool with 7 colors (your RG LED matrix will give you 3 - being red, green and yellow). Let me know if you have any questions. I love this stuff (LED Matrixes)!

I have attached some general design stuff that works for me and the documentation for your displays (20mA) each LED.
