copter is right. After I released the latest .ts file, most of them were solved.
1. Under Help, the "Credits" still shows as English even though .ts file already have the CS (&Credits and Credits in MainSpinWindow) - (Solved) 2. When selecting Projects/Open Project, the title on the window have problem on the 3rd character. The sentence in .ts file looks fine, though. - (Solved) 3. Menu Projects/Save As Project. - (Solved) 4. Menu Projects/Clone Project. - (Solved) 5. Compiler Tab title. - Still in English 6. Linker Tab title. - Still in English 7. Under Linker Tab, Create Project Library - (Solved) 8. Ballon help for Save As Project. - (Solved) 9. Ballon help for Back - (Solved) 10. Ballon help for (Browse Ctrl+Left Click) - (Solved) 11. Stop Build or Loader - (Solved) 12. Build Status Tab title - (Solved) 13. Inside About, "Visit SimpleIDE for more information" - (Solved) 14. Inside About, "Email bug reports to .. " - Still in English 15. Inside About, "Show this window at startup" - (Solved) 16. Inside Project/Properties: a. GCC Folders Tab Title - Still in English b. Spin Folders Tab Title - Still in English c. General Tab Title - Still in English d. Highlight Tab Title - (Solved) 17. Compiled & Terminal is working but buttons "Options" & "OK" still in English. There's one thing very weird. On first launch & Run Console, the Terminal's button "Disable" was in CS. After I click "OK" & click Run Console again, it shows up in English. On subsequent clicking of Run Console, it stays in English. But if I quit & launch & Run Console, the first time would always be in CS ... - - Still the same problem but now, cannot see the text (maybe same color as background color?)
MacTuxLin, you got to a same point as I did. Missing translations match between Finnish and Simplified Chinese. It's up to jazzed now.
EDIT: Regarding terminal it seems that you had the terminal working before you updated .qm file for your language?
jazzed, could it be that system is trying to use localized string when it's defining fore- and background colors to terminal? When it doesn't work, system defaults to black? It seems that terminal is working except the colors, because I can see buffer increasing when I run Hello Word that just outputs lots of lines.
I'm not sure if this issue had been discussed before but I'm just thinking about the infrastructure in future translation need.
1. We could have a simple web page (maybe in php or jsp) that will load each .ts file & populate to a MySQL DB with fields like English-US (Main), UK, French, German, CS, CT, etc.
What do all of you think?
Why not using Google code repository, for example and not reinvent a bicycle?
All needed infrastructure of collaboration working is already done. You just have make your choice.

You've got a point, DamirX. However, I'm thinking more of just code sharing. Having the web-site perform some, if not all, the functions that copter mentioned in his thread.

I'm not sure what to make of the fore- and background color problem. I don't have them localized with tr(...). I'll look into the default to zero hypothesis. What happens if you use the "Reset Options" button? I put the defaults to yellow/blue fore/background.
I tested the Linux release on debian 32 using LANG=fi.utf8, etc... and everything seemed to work right.
I tested v0-8-1 on windows xp by changing the locales. Everything seemed fine.
Kenichi, I don't see the translations folder in the mac package at all. I'm so sorry for this oversight. Under Simpleide.app, please create a translation folder at the same level as MacOSX and add your .qm file there. Restart SimpleIDE.
I'm recovering from the Las Vegas trip, and will be back into this more tomorrow.
Yes, that's what I thought so I copied to the same folder as SimpleIDE.app but it didn't work. Actually, I've forgotten that I need to copy into SimpleIDE.app (my fault). Just done that & now its working (but still with the same problems I see in Win7).

$ ls SimpleIDE.app/Contents/translations/
SimpleIDE_de.qm SimpleIDE_fi.qm SimpleIDE_pt.qm SimpleIDE_zh.qm
@copter, are you running from the debian distribution?
I tested the distribution. Here are the contents:
$ ls SimpleIDE-0-8-1
INSTALL.txt bin demos license parallax setup.sh simpleide translations
$ ls SimpleIDE-0-8-1/bin
SimpleIDE ctags libQtCore.so.4 libQtGui.so.4 libaudio.so.2 template.sh
$ ls SimpleIDE-0-8-1/translations/SimpleIDE_de.qm SimpleIDE_fi.qm SimpleIDE_pt.qm SimpleIDE_zh.qm
It is possible to run from the source build, but it is necessary for translations to be in the right place, and they are not by default. Even if I move them, it's possible to mis-configure the build environment so that the translations don't work.
@jazzed, I was running Windows 7 64-bit version when I tested. I can try what happens when running Linux too. I prefer Ferdora, so I'll test it there from the source build. What I still wonder is that when MacTuxLin tested he had the same issues with terminal, but only after he did put the updated translations on place. But OK I will test this and report here. Sorry about the delay, my holidays just ended and it has been a killer week this far.

Oops. I thought you were running Linux already. Don't bother unless you just want to do it.
If you do, make sure to use $ hg update spinside
I use Windows 7 64 pro in development and can't reproduce the issues.
My test laptop has pro (or something else). I'll try it today.
No problems with my WindowsXP VM.
Can you try this ?
1) reset options in the terminal options (don't close the dialog).
2) then in the properties general tab press the clear and exit button.
3) restart simpleide.
I tried what you suggested above, but it didn't make any difference. Here's couple pictures attached from different situations. I tested this time on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (64-bit was Pro version), but all works just like on my another laptop.
This is terminal after I installed clean version 0.8.1, didn't do anything about the translations (used the file supplied with the installer package). Everything works like it should:
Then I took my latest translation which is attached in this thread, released it to overwrite existing file in translations folder. I was able to see that serial is outputting (bar on the left was moving to there was content coming to the window). Terminal was the same after applying defaults the way you mentioned above:
These are the settings, so all colors etc are properly selected:
Ok, this is perfectly clear now. Thanks for going the extra mile to describe the problem step by step. Sorry I missed it earlier.
Yes, the localization of the color names is definitely the problem.

Here's an update to the Windows SimpleIDE.exe program. It must be copied over a previous 0-8-x installation SimpleIDE.exe.
Unzip the program and copy to the C:\program files (x86)\SimpleIDE\bin folder.
This should fix the terminal colors issue for translations. Other translation issues have not been addressed yet.
Ok, attached is a windows 0-8-3 update that addresses the items below.
Translation files are in the attached simpleide-ts-files.zip
Same deal as the other SimpleIDE.exe - must be copied into a pre-existing C:\Program Files (x86)\SimpleIDE\bin to run.
Fill out 11 new items for the .ts files. Release as SimpleIDE_ID.qm . Copy to C:\Program Files (x86)\SimpleIDE\translations.
Restart SimpleIDE to test.

Sorry, I was thinking out loud. The "Close Tab" hover help over the (X) seems to be a QtTabWidget thing with no accessor method. I was looking to see if I could change it by extending the class, but it's not clear how that will work yet.

I'll probably make this a checkable button so that the text doesn't matter.
QtWidget - In Simple Terminal settings and general settings "OK" and "Cancel" buttons are not localized. (new) Didn't notice anything new regarding this one, behavior is the same.
Not sure I have any control over this in the current design. May need to move to custom buttons instead of using QDialogButtonBox.

I've got a question ... a lot of what I have updated in previous version seems to be missing in this .ts file. Is it because of the way I saved the file? Just that, whenever I've finished, I'll close all before re-opening the .ts file to check before releasing for testing.

Kenichi,
I'm not sure the highlighted items ever had any translations.
The font string display is yet another challenge. That comes straight out of the Qt framework.
Are there other translations missing?
...
so I figured the buttons should also be translated?
That one was added manually. Qt docs call Ok and Cancel standard, but that doesn't seem very international. I'll spend time making all the OK/Cancel buttons international. It's relatively easy to do. Other things are not so easy.
To our translators who are still "In Progress" (French, Spanish, Italian, Indian) - what is your status? Is there anything I can do to help your progress?
A few who have completed their translations already have their hardware on the way. Don't get left behind! If I don't hear back from anybody on the "In Progress" items by August 10th, I'll open that language back up to the public. It would be awesome to see Simple IDE be multilingual with representation from all major languages.
Also, when posting a submission, make sure you include the Translation Source (.ts) file - not just the compiled .qm binary file.
"Done" is relative right now, although we do have a substantial amount of the IDE translation complete.
Copter, MacTuxLin, and I are working through some changes to make sure everything is localized.
I still need to add the Help -> Propeller Datasheet and User Guide PDFs.
BTW, Copter and others, please post information I can put into the Credits dialog page as thanks for your help.
It seems that most of the translators have become inactive or is there anything happening with languages that are still in progress? Also I think that some of the languages which are marked as completed are missing latest updates?
