MacTuxLin, I meant there are complete sentences and words on the TS file that do not show on the Simple IDE. These might be out of order, perhaps hidden under some obscure options,....I don't know.
Or perhaps I am using an old Simple IDE ? Which is the latest version ?
I have found there is no 100% match between the IDE and the words and sentences to translate.
There are words on the TS file that do not appear on the IDE (at least not at that section).
By the way, do you have plans to translate the installer?
For the next phase of the SimpleIDE it is possible to make changes that may simplify translations. Kenichi's approach seems reasonable for now.
The unimplemented Terminal Options dialog will account for most match issues. This is being added.

Right ... got what you mean now. I initially had the same problems when I was doing it as I couldn't see the whole picture as the translated meaning would differ. You're right, you might not see the translated words on the IDE all at once as some are visible in dialog boxes, I believe.

Nope, somehow I managed to open the file without getting an error message. I've tried the Debian package, qtcreqtor from qt.nikia.com and finally the full SDK from qt.nokia.com. "Application Qt.Linguist could not be found". Well, back to the original Windows plan.

Open a terminal. Change directory to wherever QtSDK or QtCreator was unpacked when you installed it.
Somewhere in there you will find a bin directory with the linguist executable in it. Run that from the command line.

However, QtCreator (and friends) shows up in a start menu for me in the 7 flavors of linux that I use:
Debian 6.02 and 6.05, Ubuntu 12, Fedora 16 and 17, Mint 13, and Suse 12.
Installation of QT tools is very easy on Fedora. Just run "yum install qt-devel" and it installs everything needed, even QT Linguist tool. I don't have Debian machine right here, but I guess it should just install with apt-get using command "apt-get install qt4-dev-tools". This works in Ubuntu at least.
After working for several hours I decided to save for later and continue tomorrow.
I *saved* my work with 'Save All' and then I left the QT program.
Just to check everything was saved, I entered the QT application again. Looked in the menu for a way to re-load my *project* but found nothing other than 'reload recent files'.
The program gives the option to load a TS files or qph files.
The TS file that is in my folder just loads the original English content, with no traces of my work!:-(
The QPH file loads but, after complaining about many repeated words, it ends with and empy tree at the left. No way to continue my work!
I have browsed the folder where I saved my work and see that the qph file is a XML file that actually contains the words I have translated.
However I am unable to restart the work from this file alone

When I was trying to understand the file structure of QT Linguist and the processes we would need, I was toying around with it and came across a potentially similar problem. I first opened a .qph file, selected a few options, and then opened a .ts file for a different language. Things didn't look right - the language for the newly opened .ts file was not correct and it appeared as if the old settings from the .qph file were there.
I was able to see things clear up by closing any open file I had opened in QT Linguist and re-opening just the .ts file.
So, I got it eventually. Qt.Linguist was missing. I could install it via the update function of qtcreator. Qtcreator still says "Qt.Linguist not found" but there's a qtlinguist file now that starts and opens the file. I'm running siduction, a sid based distri.
First attempt at German translation added. Not 100% complete.
I haven't done much "debugging", searching for spelling errors and all that. Also, although I'm a German native speaker I haven't used any kind of German language IDE in the past few years. I hope some of the other German speaking users on the forum can help here. Translation should be a group effort anyway.
Streber ! I've added 2 or 3 things, the Rest are keywords methinks and better not translated. This is done - nice job Christoph ! What about the docmentation ? I've attached the file, it is only renamed to .zip, just rename back to .ts.

The latest version is 0.7.2.
Do you have QtLinguist? That tool should parse the XML for you when you open the .ts file and present all the strings that need translation.

Only certain file types can be uploaded. Making a .zip as you have done is the best way around the limit.
