Unfortunately we were still adding manual results and had the prevent duplicate submissions turned off so that I could add the manual responses as they came in. . Why it would be necessary to add such protection to a fun poll is beyond me. The C person put in 54 responses in a short time frame, with the same answer, same IP address. The extra 53 responses can be deleted if CounterRotatingProps wants them gone. I did a reverse lookup(who is) to identify where the IP address is from. Maybe I should publish it for all to see.

    The prevent duplicate submissions feature is now turned on.

    The poll question is too open ended. Though the poll suggests "... on the propeller" I suspect some may have taken it as "... on platforms they use" which could explain the 50%+ vote for C.

    I voted "Spin and some PASM" though in truth it's probably "Spin and PASM" in about equal measure, or maybe "PASM and some Spin", neither of which options exist.

    Not sure what you are trying to ascertain but it might have been better to get a "how much do you use this" rating for each language.

    Bob,

    please remove the 53 invalid responses.

    Just more proof that C leads to an obsessive-compulsive life style, followed by learning C++ ...

    Maybe we should take a poll on exposing the polecat who djorked the poll? smilewinkgrin.giftongue.gif

    Early this morning I voted for Spin+PASM once and C once just to see if I could do it :)
    I guess letting everyone vote more than once is tons of fun :)

    Hi Hippy,

    as you can see, we've already determined that the data got skewed. But you are also correct - when we moved to the online survey, we took it out of its self-evident context, out of being in the prop forum and it's mentioning of obex obj's. The SPIN and PASM (versus adding a·"more PASM and some SPIN") wasn't needed for this. Again, this is a very rough survey - the data so far is very useful.

    @Bob

    could you please revise the text to read:

    For the Propeller, which do you use (or code in) the most often?·

    @CounterRotatingProps,

    The results still seem a bit skewed to me. Are you sure you removed all the duplicate votes for C?

    RossH,

    correct - there was another DoF Attact (Denial of Fun) from our click-happy C addict --- Bob's pulling those too ... looks more like a realistic 6 to 12 C'ers.

    @ CounterRotatingProps

    I had a closer look at some of the other responses as well. We have a respondent with IP 83.211.xxx.xxx (I won't post the whole thing yet) Country - ITALY (IT) that voted 9 times in a row for PASM freaked.gif

    Let me know if you want those deleted as well.

    It will take some time to clean the data up but it should start looking more realistic soon.

    There are still responses that have to be added manually . Just the new ones on thread.

    No problem, Steve - actually I didn't think it sarcastic, rather saw you were just rolling with the very funny post Ross made.

    Maybe we have to have a Poll or Lottery for "How long Can Ross Code C without his C key" ?

    Double your bet if we remove his "{" and "}" keys ?

    hehehe

    Surely there's more than that?

    I know what you mean. I just read instead of programming... so my projects lay collecting dust :-( (calculator, pPropQL/020, CPLD+Prop, FPGA + Prop... :-( )

    Now, I'm decided on making pPropQL work before Christmas... that will be fun!

    OK I just voted. I always feel the need for speed so it's PASM that takes most of my Prop time. Besides it's about the neatest instruction set I've ever worked with whereas SPIN is just, well, another block structured language.

    I think you have a missing option though, "PASM and some Spin", after all most of us can't get our PASM to run without Spin.
