Either I did not see these earlier or they were just added to the Store:

    Item# 400-00052 Omron 12A SPDT Relay $1.99 37 in stock

    Item# 400-00053 Sharp 8A Solid State Relay $3.99 166 in stock

    Thank you Parallax and Chris.

Both of these say to "see datasheet for details". Adding a link to the datasheets would be appreciated.

Sorry erco, only 37. Maybe eventually you will get your 1000.

Being an old machine tool electrician electronics technician, It does look interesting. What is the rating on the SSRs Output voltages and current)?

From the product page on our website...

This PCB mount solid state relay fits in our Digital I/O Board (#27113) and allows optically isolated control of AC voltage at up to 8A @ 240VAC (see datasheet for details). Manufacturer part# S202S02F.

    Features:
    • 8A output current
    • Zero crossing detection
    • High repetitive peak off-state voltage
    • 4.0kV isolation voltage between input and output
    • 4-pin SIP package for PCB mounting
    • Screw hole for heat sink

    Application Ideas:
    • Isolated interface between high voltage AC devices and low voltage DC control circuitry
    • Switching motors, fans, heaters, solenoids and valves
    • Power control in lighting applications and temperature control equipment

    Key Specifications:
    • Power specification: 8A @ 240VAC (AC ONLY)
    • Control Voltage: 1.2V @ 20mA (50mA MAX)
    • Dimensions: 0.73" W x 0.22" D x 0.97" H* (18.4 mm x 5.6 mm x 24.7 mm)
      *not counting leads
    • Operating temp range: -13 to +212°F (-25 to +100°C)

Thanks. Most control voltages are either 24VDC or 120V ac for american machine electrical codes.

Control voltages, yes...and on this board a control voltage could be fed into the opto-input and used to turn on a relay via the BASIC Stamp or Propeller chip.

The SSR control input just drives an internal IR LED. So it would work fine with 24vDC with an appropriate series resistor

The 1.2v is just the forward voltage drop across the IR Led at the recommended current of 20mA.

    cheers

    Chris Savage (Parallax)

The I/O card is great. The SSR's at 120vAC (output) are just what I need.
    Great Job!

    However

I work in a real industrial plant, I really need 120vAC inputs on the I/O card along with the 120vAC outputs.

I would like to get this from one source (Parallax) And already assembled.( This would be one P.O.#)

120vAC input and 120vAC output, All soldered up, Would fit the real industrial Bill.

Well... I have just finished assembling my first copy of this board. Assembly Instructions were great. Went together in a snap!

However, I went to download the sample code from the product page and it appears to be for the basic stamp - which I don't know. Do you have an ETA for when I can expect to see SPIN for this board using the serial / 4 wire method on the Parallax site?

I'm pretty new to micros and I am VERY early in the learning stage. I figure It'll take me about a week to get this puppy figured out and programmed from scratch on my own. I guess I got spoiled with all the other accessories for the Propeller already having their own sample spin code and objects. That REALLY has made my learning process speed along and boosts the fun factor.

    HELP!!!

Thanks and keep up the great work

    Roger

    Chris,

It would be a big help to us super newbees if you could include or at least specify which connector we should order to connect to the 10x2 and/or 5x2 headers in either the docs or sales page. A link to the correct connector would be awsome.

    Thanks,

    Roger
