What is the purpose of the pullup on the relay?

To make sure stray radio signals or voltage on lines next to it do not fire the relay

Ok, got the master built the Slave is proving to be a pain in my ***. For some reason, the first slave we built last night has to have a short on the +5v somewhere. I also noticed I missed a trace on the 2nd relay in on each set of 8 that goes to the relay status LED, no big deal, I can just shift the resistor to make up for it when soldering but still sucks.
I am sending the completed master and one slave with all LED's and Resistors soldered and a single row of relays and also a 2nd slave with working power, all TPics, 1 relay, and the receiver. It should be enough for you to test with.
I'm not sure what's up with the master, I think I loaded the code, but I can't get any status LED's to light except the power LEDs. Hopefully you can troubleshoot it, or it's just the software. I'm including my propmod and will get another ordered here soon.

chaosgk have you gotten anymore masters or slaves complete and if so how well are they working and if i remember correctly your pyro buddies disliked this idea when they heard of it originally so what do they think of it now that you have it almost working

No, I've actually been on vacation to a PGI fireworks convention and WeFest in Minnesota for the last 10 days so I didn't get a chance to work on any more slaves since then.
I don't remember saying my pyro buddies were against it, most of the guys I do pyro with are excited to finally see the system working.

Just wanted to post a update on the boards. Kwinn is hard at work testing the ones I sent him and they are working as expected aside from a couple of soldering problems.
I soldered up another master board for myself last night and need to order some higher value resistors for the slaves and I'll get started on those.
We also found a company at the PGI fireworks convention we went to that is working on a new fireworks simulation software. We hooked up with them and we are helping them develop it to work with most firing systems including ours.
The new software will allow us to design our entire display, with all music and cue points, enter our delay times into the shells we build and see what it should look like before we ever start building anything. Once the simulatio is done, we can export a list of the shells we need, and all of the time codes for kwinn's software interface for the control system.

Almost done building all 16 slave boards now, having trouble with the relays not firing for the correct address right now. Think it's resistor problem somewhere though.
