Propeller tool not starting on Windows 11 laptop

....it was working fine but today the app closes when trying to start-up, even after a complete re-install.
tried poking about with settings and running as admin etc, any suggestions what to check on?

Meanwhile I downloaded PropellerIDE https://github.com/parallaxinc/PropellerIDE/releases/download/0.38.5/propelleride-0.38.5-amd64.exe, managed to open and load my MIDIBEAT project.
If you're comfortable with RegEdit you can remove the Propeller section from the registery and restart the program. I had to do this once. That said, you'll have a better experience with Spin Tools from Marco Maccaferri. It's what Propeller Tool should have become but never did, and it runs on all major platforms.

Not a solution but installing an older version of the tool works.
It’s usually the most recently used file list in the registry that breaks the prop tool…
You can delete the whole parallax entry or look for MRU think it’s called and delete that.
This has come up several times in the past here…
Maybe installing old tool deleted the registry entry or made a different one…
