P2 Edge power input question

What is the maximum voltage that can be supplied to the P2 Edge card? I have read the spec sheet and just want to make double sure 12v is OK.

The original P2-Edge's were designed to be run with 5V, but this has increased to a higher value in the later versions, so be just careful as to which board version you are using.

Eg, the silkscreen labeling on my REV A P2-EC board says 5V for VIN, while the P2-EC32MB REV A says 5-16V . I still run both at 5V though.

  • P2-EC Rev C and D should be OK with 12v, Correct?

  • Check the silkscreen label on the board or find the schematic for those. I don't have those boards here.

  • RevB, C and D are all 5-16V range.
Your 12V supply will be totally fine.

Perfect! Do we know if this is going to be the standard moving forward?

The breakout carriers kind of need an update to match this. The direct 5V feed to the accessory headers are dangerous to the add-on boards as is.
