Need help getting started with Microsoft Robotics Studio 1.5

Don't know if I should post this here or in the Robotics forum, so appologies in advance.

I am trying to follow the Parallax text ( MSRS Bluetooth Boe-Bot® Robot (#28118) v1.2), but getting stuck at the first step [noparse]:([/noparse]

I've downloaded Microsoft Robotics Studio v1.5

When I run the Robotics Studio Command Prompt, I get a message at the top that says...

Setting environment to use Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 SDK tools.
For a list of SDK tools, see the 'StartTools.htm' file in the bin folder.

I enter in CD samples\Platforms\Parallax\BASICStamp2, and press the enter key.· I then type BASICStamp2.csproj

but all I get is a pop-up saying that Window can't open this file and asks me to find a program that can...· It is as though it does not recognize files with a .csproj extension.

I don't think MSRS is installed correctly (as evidenced by the message I get when I run the MSRS Command Prompt.

Any ideas?

    This should be in the Robotic's area, I think (so someone may move it).

    There have been lots of posts about this on the forum. A search of the forum might help get you started. Andy Lindsay has helped a lot of people get started. He seems to be away doing classes for educators.

    Steve,

    You will also need Visual C# Express or higher to open those files. Its free from MS.

    Just so you know, .csproj is a Visual Studio CSharp Project file.

    Hi Steve,

    You also might want to fall back to MSRS v 1.0 as I think that there were problems with v 1.5 and the BoeBot GUI C# code.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks all! I've removed MSRS from my system... I think I need to wait for it to mature a bit more before a newbie like me plays with it... It doesn't seem like it has taken off like I thought it would have... wonder why?

    Thanks much Kevin... unfortunately, I don't know C... what peaked my interest in MSRS was the VPL that is now included as part of version 1.5

    Steve,

    You can program in VPL with MSRS (1.0), and it does work with the Boe-Bot robot. Interested in giving it a go?

    Thanks so much Andy... I can't tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to help me out!· I think I am going to wait a bit... there are some books that are suposed to be available this fall... I think I want to wait a bit for some more documentation and for the product to gain a bit more momentum... I will likely ask for your help later this year or early next.

    hallo there,

    had anyone a clue(reference) how to use Javelin Stamp(with demo board) with MSRS? confused.gif

    I found only some reference for boebot
