This is the encoder in VP style, the way it should be. Jon, our moderator, sent me some code on a different topic that inspired me. Thanks Jon, for the midi example.
As for the ports, Some futaba's put a 12V supply and some put a 5V supply on pin 1 of the jack. so a cable that connects the two pin 1's will cook the little 10uH filters in that line - like you planned to do anyway, don't assume anything about the port your hooking to.
Hitec's trainer cord is a 1 way, from slave to master. Thier manual says you void the warranty if you use anything else. I know why now!
