shocked.gif·Frustrated!

· problem >1· USB! acording to doc,s you CAN program with USB instead···
· of Serial port! Ok! Then where is the USB to Com port Software
· DRIVER ?

·················· My computer Asked me for it!freaked.gif· it,s kind of like a USB to ext/serial port converter,to the computer the USB device is a COM port, and

··················· the programmer is set to that port! Has to BE a driver before it can work!yeah.gif··· seems the info was missed, Jon fixed that!

·· Problem #2·· Ryan! arrrrrk! as usual,I do it so often,I rang off from our
·· chat and· set it as a Static IP without thinking!
···Now·I cannot access, cause there is NO device unit in the box. back to
·· the on/off lights.

·· Ok! so I go spend $$ for a USB2-10/100 network device so I can go
·· directly from·laptop to PINK with (RED) cable, now, the lights work as
·· they are supposed to, NO Unit shows up at all!
·· so·I cannot change it! Now what? I just noticed something on the
·· revelation on the PINK....(I was digging)

·· Debug port:· serial port 0····· pin 10/8/6 can be used·for debugging,
·· More doc's needed on this function, and the extra pin header
·· AH! HA...see below!
·····················
······················ BAD unit!???

·· When you BOOTUP the device and have the TTY program
· ·running it will print out the config settings

· There has got to be another way in,or a RESET/Clear settings
··somewhere, the two serial ports come to mind!
· those unlisted set of pins on there?

·For others :·· I got my PINK the other day and had problems! It would·
··················· not show the UNIT in the box in the IPset·program!

··after fiddling with it and calling Ryan,we moved it back a forth a few
· times,it suddenly decided to WORK!
· After hanging up from Ryan·I went and programmed
··the darn thing with a Static IP,now·I cannot access it again!

· I,m at a loss here! cause it's getting something!
··But not talking back and showing itself. Is it a bad one?
·I had put this in· already
·Static IP:· 192.168.1.9··· Submask :255.255.255.0··
·gateway :192.168.1.1·· so I thought,seems it is not programmed!

·Ok! here are some things I,ve found with the PINK.....Serial port 0 is a Default DEBUG port ,I got this on power up: (115k 8bits 1 stop)

···

···· þü>6°?|?°{þ›°|þûþìüConfigured IP = 0.0.0.0
··································· Configured Mask = 0.0.0.0
··································· MAC Address=·00:03:F4:01:d3:

···· And to help you along: Attached:··· PDF files·· Manuals on the Coldfire chip used in this Device, and some files from· Netburner!

··· Maxed out the attachments(grin)··· Enjoy!

··· Cheers Dennis

    · hi, Jon.

    · Thanks for that info, that is NOT in the Development board Doc's(grin)

    · I did find some info on the Coldfire CPU The MCF5271 is same as the 70 in the PINK
    ·
    · in the PINK module if you want! Pdf files!

    · Interesting stuff!

    http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=MCF5270&nodeId=01DFTQ00M9&tid=TSPGAD200404LP

    · Now all·I have to do is fix my other problem! The PINK.

    · right now all it will do is light up for a while then shut off the lights

    · (on the LAN Socket)then light up again, and repeat! I cannot access it

    ··with the IPset program·to reset·the IP address!

I will make a note to add that info to the PDB documentation. I don't know anything about the PINK module so you'll probably have to wait until Monday until the Tech Support team is back in the office.

    Hi again,

·Thanks,I did find some things thou about the Pink ,and it looks like it has told me why! I thought!!

·seems that there is a way of accessing it via a debug port,On boot it sends a string to a terminal

·that shows it,s settings as of then: seem to be ok!

    ·Interesting toy to play with....

    · Cheers Dennis
