    StampNut2,

The only PBASIC code is in the servo and laser controller...

    http://forums.parallax.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=38781

...The serial receive string is organized to accept a 3-Byte header ... "LPO"... followed by 3-Bytes of data...· X_Offset, Y_Offset, and Lazer

    WAIT("LPO"),X_Offset,Y_Offset,Lazer

If 'another' BS2 sends a valid serial string, then it to could control the servos and laser pointer.

X_Offset and Y_Offset should be in the range from 0 to 250, While Lazer should be a "1"-ON or "0"-OFF.

    Loop,
Your going to end up in jail, pointing lasers into the sky. Lasers can blind pilots and cause an air disaster. Please don't point your laser beam into the sky!!!

    Seriously,
Lasers are not toys to be played with in my mind. Pointing a laser at the wall in the basement can cause damage to your eyes from the beam fragments that reflect back to you. Pointing a laser at a reflective foil outside on your house and watching the beam fragments skatter all over the neighborhood is a disaster the way I see it.
You will never see a lab tech that uses lasers, without laser protective goggles on. They may know something about laser radiation that others don't. You think?

Bottom line. Don't experiment with lasers without protective eye wear. Period...
Be careful, others around you may not have protective eye wear.

    Hi,

    In case anybody's interested ... I designed a nice little bracket just for a self-contained Pan&Tilt for a laser ...

My bracket is for a remote controlled "Gunner's Position" on my autonomous and remote controlled robots ...

    Picture of servo setup;

    image006.jpg

    Video showing the bracket action

As you can see in the video the system is mounted on a plastic platform ... that is the base of a plastic box to enclose everything with just a slot for the camera to see and laser to emit ...

But I don't know where to get the metal brackets made at affordable prices ...
