It's not as nice as you'd think. Some days the wakes from passing boats make it too hard to breadboard, never mind solder. In extreme cases likes this I just have to suffer with sitting in the sun and watching the world go by.
I've actually traveled to several tropical islands around the world and I love it.· If I was able to do my electronic projects in that environment· I'd be in heaven.· I'm referring to some of the coves that you have pictures of on your website.· On a different note, Ken asked how the Nuts & Volts summary is going?
Good lord.· I'm looking at all of your peoples desks and I'm drooling.· I have no idea what anything is... But I'm still drooling...·
I know Chris personally in real-life, and I've seen his work areas first hand lol.... Dont let him kid you, he isnt all that neat.. ·· I think he should post pics of his new work space soon though! ...· Anyhow I'm really excited because I should have my very own Boe-Bot by this weekend.· I've been wanting to delve into the BASIC Stamp stuff since I met Chris, I'd really gotten interested at one point... Then like most of you know he moved to CA from NY, and I kinda lost interest in things... But after reading a few chapters in the Boe-Bot manual he gave me about 6 months ago · I started to get interested... I was just nervous about learning PBASIC, but after looking at the book, it doesnt look all that bad. I'll admit it will be a long time before I start writing my own programs like Chris does but I'm happy that I'm going to learn the basics with my new kit.·
I'm confused though between the 2 books I'm reading.· The BASIC stamp manual versos the What is a Micro-Controller.· I'm not really sure of the difference??· Can someone let me know?· I really like how the Boe-Bot book is written Andy did a great job.· Does he read these forums too?· I like how this company actually has a forum to help people out, not alot of companies can say that they do that.· Places like Dell have forums, but very rarely do you see anyone else but an "end user" posting in them.· .· Right now though I'm takin my time reading this Boe-Bot book and the BASIC stamp manual before my kit gets here.· Since I dont have the What is a mic cont. text I like how you can download it for free.· It really helps people who have little money as I do! College eats it all! Anyhow I'm looking forward to learning about my boe-bot and also programming.· I really like how the Boe-Bot is really just the BASIC stamp starter kit with a robot frame, this way you really get your monies worth by having "both" kits all in one!·
Anyhow thanks for reading this lonnngggg reply...· I've got a small corner of my computer desk right now set aside for my "work space" I know I'll need more though hehe.· Anyhow take care.
Oh yeah incase anyone hasnt said anything... Congrats to Chris for his new job.· He's doing what he loves and I know he's dedicated to Parallax, and from me personally knowing him he does "know his stuff"!·

Nice to see others who work in a organized state of confusion, and I thought I was the only one who worked that way!
I loved the funished garage on the Everything Website, my father had a similar style workshop (we have conflicting styles) and it took me forever opening and closing each door trying to find what I needed. I much prefer a what you see (those doors would have to go) approach to organization although I love the look. It took me years to realize that although I always sought organization (spent $$$$'s on trays, boxes, jars etc... I in fact never end up working that way. Maybe the approach is to judge what comes out of a workshop and not what is inside. Still love to see how others work, it always amazes me how many tips you can pick up just from looking at another persons workbench. Keep up the images they are great I would post images of mine only I seem to have misplaced my camera, it was here just a minute ago...

My main problem with the stuff is it stains EVERYTHING, and finding a good surface that will clean up nice is not easy.
Chris,
If·I remember my chemistry correctly, ferrous stains are neutralized by changing the PH of the solution (I can't rember if its altering it from ferric (Fe+++) to ferrous (Fe++)·or vice versa or maybe its Fe+) one is rust brown in color the other is pale yellow in color. This is typically done via a chelate which is a compound of molecules that change the charge on the Fe and absorb it into it's molecular lattice.

Not sure how you want us to let you know....
Mine is "file 6/26".
This is the majority of our components, but certainly not all of them.
There's loads of resistors, diodes, caps and hardware/connectors.
Lots of IC's (the likes of aren't made any more I'm sure!) and anything else you can think of!
One day, when I get the test equipment out, I'll post a pic of that (there's too much to leave out, so it's in storage until we need it!)
Cheers

@Steve - I assume 7/26 was yours as well? It seems to be a close-up of one of the cabinets from the photo you claimed.
@Peter - If you want these posted on the Savage Circuits photo gallery could you please send the pictures to me individually with descriptions? You can send them to info@savagecircuits.com
