I have an application where I only have 5 volts available to the Propeller Mini. I do not need the 5 volts from the 'on board 5v regulator'. Do you think I could remove/bypass the on board 5v regulator and use my supply's 5 volt output connected to the on board 3.3v regulator to power the processor?

Its should be OK as long as the +5 volt supply is stable. The +5 is mainly for accessories like the LCD etc. Modifying the board would probably void any kind of warranty I'm guessing.

I've done it in commercial products. As long as the other +5V source is regulated It works fine. Just connect your 5V to the 5V pin. If you have regulated 3v3 you can also run the PropMini by connecting it to the 3v3 pin, bypassing both onboard regulators. It is not necessary to remove the onboard regulators and would risk damaging the board to try.

Have you checked the regulator datasheets as not all regulators can withstand voltages on their outputs above the voltage on their inputs. particularly some older regulators would fail.

Cluso it's been checked out before and I've been doing it for a couple of years in products that run 24/7 in industrial environments. It's not a problem.

Great, wanted to make sure the specs checked out as I know some regulators do not like it and will die at some point.
