Annual Holiday Giveaway

Back in 2009 James Long started the Annual Holiday Giveaway
http://forums.parallax.com/discussion/118449/holiday-give-away/p1
He kept up with it for a couple of years, then dropped out. I took over as hover1 during that time, and we went a couple more years.

I would like to start this up again. I have many items that I do not use for projects at the time, and would like to get into the hands for people than can not afford the purchase price.

Would prefer Parallax products. I will have my list in about a week.

And, no, my Quadrover is not going to be on the list. :)

Thanks Publison. I would donate. I don't have a list, so if anyone needs something post it and I'll see what I can do.

Classic Corvair to loving home, needs some TLC. Local pickup only!
  • Ah, I've got one question, forums.parallax.com/discussion/127736/annual-holiday-giveaway#latest is that the original one?

    And yes I'm in.

By the way, erco, there is a rather scruffy looking fellow who's also a hot pilot, I'll tell him about your car, if you'll make sure your robots are not at home.

Well having read that one I could indeed respond to it, for my hack meetup's parts kits, but the sad truth is that I'm the only one who's remotely involved with the Parallax gadgetry we discuss.

Oddly I enough I could use some of it directly, but that would defeat the purpose of the listing.

    Buck Rogers,

None of the parts I'm donating are Parallax-specific.

They're parts I'll never get to use (due to sheer quantity) or from projects that didn't work out :(.

If you are creating parts kits for others then I'd be more than happy to send them to you. And if you wanted to use some of the parts for yourself, that would be fine also. My main intent is to help more than one person this year without spending too much on shipping.

    Hello!
That's different. Sometimes I do indeed supply parts kits for that individual who's got a bigger idea then mine, but can't find the right parts. Okay PM departing now.

Amanda, glad to have you back!

The way it has worked in the past, you post a list of parts you have available in this thread, and people will respond and follow up with a PM.

The shipment payment is the responsibility of person offering the object.

It works both ways. You may see something that you might like and not have to pay shipping for the item.

My list is late because I have been doing hospital duties with my sister, and taking care of her critters.

Well said. I'll PM my address to you next.
  • And a PM is on its way.
  • So the rules for this are that I post a list of items I'm willing to offer and then I pay to ship them to whoever wants them?

Yes, I saw one in person at Parallax headquarters once. It was in a glass case though. I've never seen one in operation.

Two 4-meter reels of 60 LED/meter RGB. WS281x. Work fine with JonnyMac's driver. One slightly used, one still sealed.

One to a customer. Free shipping inside USA.

    Would like 28087 OLED.

Edit: David Betz and Publison snatched these up.
