xxBYTE, xxWORD, and xxLONG would just be aliases for N=1, 2, and 4 respectively.
I'm not quite following - Chip said this would be a PNUT ASM change, but your example suggests a packed reading of 3 bytes
( with presumably a matching Ptr+3 ). That's more than an Assembler change ?
I forgot about that. How is that going to work? encode it as a RDLONG+SHR?
So I spent the rest of the evening yesterday looking at what is available in patterned tights on the internet. Girls certainly have many more creative choices in clothing than guys.

That was an interesting diversion. I venture there purely from an, ahem, academic POV.
From a technological view, it seems there are new processes for printing on spandex that allow for just about anything the imagination desires.
Girls in Southern Taiwan don't wear tights. The weather is too hot and humid. So it is all new information to me.
I guess I need to visit Prague, St. Petersburg, or Helsinki to keep up.
