It's about intolerance. Rather than fixate on our differences and making judgements, or biasing how we treat people, embrace them.
Overall, a good message.
Work on this can improve the overall net happiness in the world.
The tattooed guy used to be a computer salesman, and at one point in the program, he cited the need to laugh along with ugly racist and sexist jokes, or get fired. Being part of the team wasn't just about technical and business acumen and shared goals. It was also reinforcing intolerance that does a lot of harm to the targets of said intolerance.
He's got the tats now, and presents a lot differently. In a way, he turned a blind eye to the passive acceptance of ugly behaviors, actualized it in his own life, and now does advocacy targeting those behaviors and can speak directly about the impacts due to how the tats have changed perceptions about him personally.
For many who struggle with this, whether it's as a target or participant in the discrimination and negative behaviors, it's often difficult to see it from other perspectives. This guy has crossed the line, and can speak right to all of that.
Life presents very differently for some of us, and that's the point.
I've seen this presented in game terms too. Some people have it on the easy setting, just by their nature. Others have a much harder time, again by their nature. And it's the same game we play. Of course, the game isn't fair, and nobody expects it to be. But, does it need to be any harder than necessary? That's the message, basically.
Where this is about things we can change, it's good. We can change, grow, improve.
Where this is about some basic attribute we don't have control over, it's not good.
This guy changed his difficulty mode, so to speak, and is now using that change to encourage others to improve on their empathy for others and understanding of how things can play out very differently for people and where the harm and good is in all of that.
I am in shock! Heater made a joke instead of inflaming the situation.
I know that sometimes posts go off topic but starting a post with a completely unrelated topic is completely inappropriate especially when it deals with controversial topics.
I for one am glad that one's personal beliefs is considered a private matter on here and rarely discussed. I know the people on here for what they know and not what they believe or don't believe.
Of course there are the few exceptions on here who just love to push everyone else's buttons whenever the opportunity arises. :P

Now I am in shock. Are you suggesting that I am infamous for inflaming situations?
Certainly I might do that in a debate about choice of programming languages or editors or whatever. That's all good sport among programmers. Trivial stuff.
And, yes, I do have a thing about people getting hooked on proprietary software and systems. But, hey, a lot of that comes from practical experience rather than any political or philosophical conviction.
first I want to thank each poster for answering.
@Phil: good Idea to move the thread to general discussion.
I meant how much more than a human beeing dying in police-arrest by broken neck and broken back
must happen until a society stands up and starts personal action for changing things to make it better
just atthe place they live.
I thought the forum-members can conclude what I meant. This was not the case. Not at all.
Looking back I say it was not possible to conclude.
Anyway I started a personal action to show my studens the video and tell my students about the seven day and night challenge
and started the challenge for myself. (for seven days and nights don't say anything negative or call anybody names
except their real own name. If you fail - look into the eyes and apologise) The challenge feels good so far.
This forum is awesome even in critics. Posters: You gave me valueable aspects to think about. Thank you.
@Phil: if you like you can close the thread or delete it. I made a local copy for me to be able to read again and think about the answers.
OK back to propeller or technical related questions....
It's is fascinating to observe the interactions on this forum. There are three or four individuals who can push my buttons and hundreds who can't or don't. But the three or four that push mine are not necessarily the same three or four individuals that annoy anyone else.
Heater, for example, is a prince among men in my book. But he's clearly gotten under the skin of a few other individuals. I can't imagine how. But there it is.
@Stefan: Thank you for clarifying. I had absolutely no idea what you were talking about. Baltimore is a very long distance away from me, and I hardly watch commercial news anyway. But good on ya for being concerned. I probably ought to care more about incidents like this. Instead, I find myself relieved that 300,000,000 other people didn't die at the hands of the police in the last week.

Thank God. Now we get down to the actual issue you are raising. Somebody died in police custody.
I'm not sure if you are aware of this but there is no hint of such an issue in your opening post here or the spam site you linked us to. How on Earth are we supposed to understand what your point is?
You are right of course. Such deplorable "accidents" have been happening in the so called civilized western world since forever. What are you suggesting we do?

Wow, "prince among men", what?
Very kind of you but I'm just a guy you know. Muddling along like most others.
Okay, time's up. But there were enough thoughtful comments that I've decided just to lock the thread instead of deleting it. Any moderator who wants to unlock it can...

Since you are the chair on this event, I though I would let it go to termination before moving it myself.
Countdown.

What on Earth are you implying?
Seriously, I'm dumb enough to have no idea.
