Same thing. Did you see the next image from the about this system. it shows a 64 bit.

I'm sure the computer is running in 64 bit because if I get info on a program that I know is 64 bit, it gives me an option to run it in 32 bit mode. I don't get that option on Simple IDE though.

So then I guess there's no way this is running on 10.6.8 correct?

    Most likely.

    We are looking into it.

Even if we create a compatible release, such a version will most likely never end up on the app store.

Did you say you have 1.0.1 RC1 running on more recent Mac OS and hardware?

    Thanks,
    --Steve

Yes, I'm running it on a 12core 3.06 gig Mac Pro desktop running Yosemite. Runs fine. I would still rather run on the Mac that's on my electronics bench. If you do resolve this issue, would I be able to get a copy of the software?

I have a theory about why the program doesn't work on older OS versions, and am making a package for Parallax testing this weekend. Parallax will decide what to do about any package distributions.

`thanks for all of the effort to sort this out. I have run the terminal code mentioned earlier and the results are EFI32, which I assume is 32bit mode. HOwever, like the other posts my About info is stating that I have a 64 bit intel. I have tried the "hold 6 and the 4 keys at boot but this did not change the EFI to 64. Core 2 duo 10.7 osx

No. Only tried installing 0-9-66. I did som research on the Kernel 64 result and I stumbled upon this link from apple support. They state that although you may have a 64 bit processor does not mean you have Kernel 64. IN the software tab under computer info that I do not have a 64 bot kernel so I guess I'm screwed if simpleIDE only works in 64.

So if I upgrade to Yosemiti ut should run fine so long as I have 64 bit Intel, right?

So will this newest version (1.0) actually run in 10.6.8?

We're so happy to hear that it works for you too!

You're welcome; it was truly a team effort (Thank you guys!!!) with lots of testing, head scratching, research, re-testing, etc. I'm so happy we were able to make it work on 10.6 and 10.7!
