Anybody know of ...

Hello:

Does anybody know who would manufacture a Prop board identical to the center of the Parallax "Propeller Proto Board"?

That is the square center of the board that contains the Prop chip, reset button, 64k flash and a crystal with the pins just connected to the 0.1 inch pitch holes.

I could by the board and try and cut out the middle but that is messy.

cheers,
rich

Ray (Cluso99) has some very nice small boards that might suit your application. Check out his website.

    Here's a thread about Cluso99's boards.

Tubular's Underbelly also uses this same pin layout. I'm not sure if Tubular sells his Underbelly boards.

The Propeller Mini has what you are asking for, and it has voltage regulators that you will probably need also.

    Thanks guys.
The mini is nice but i can never understand wasting I/O pins by not bringing them out.

    Hi Rich

Yeah, several of us used to cut down proto boards for that inner square.

I eventually made up a self contained square that adds a regulator and microSD and 8 leds on the vga pins inside the square. That's what you see in my avatar (front side).

On the back of these boards there's a set of C3 compatible memories - srams, flash, a second microsd
as per this thread (good memory, Duane)

    I
ts on the smorgasboard, I think, but I have a few variants if you tell me more about what you're doing.

My CpuBlade has a prop, 64KB eeprom, xtal in a socket which i usually overclock to 104MHz, bypass caps, a 3v3 regulator from 5-6vv dc max, optional transistor reset circuit, and all pins are brought out except BOE which is tied to gnd. Its 1"x1" and the connections are on 36 0.1" headers (unsoldered).More details on my website.

There is also the eeZee prop: https://www.tindie.com/products/bot_thoughts/eezee-propeller/
I am not totally sure what you are looking for, but it seems like one of the products mentioned might be a good fit.

And of course no thread like this would be complete without me mentioning my M44D40+ module......

Same pinout as the DIP40 Propeller, but includes the crystal, EEPROM, and programming header. Even better when paired with a PowerTwig.

Well guys after looking at all your suggestions, it looks to me it is cheaper, and gives me the smallest package, to buy $20 Prop Dev Boards and cut the centers out.

Any one want to put design the center of the dev board and i will pay or the fabrication?

    cheers,
    rich

Rich, if you're prepared to fabricate, might pay to grab a Smorgasboard from OBC. Works out around $1 per design.

It has a board from Cluso, WBA and myself on there, and heaps more. My underbelly board brings all 32 i/o out the same way as the center of a proto board. You only need to solder the prop, eeprom, regulator and reset button if thats what you need. Things like leds, uSD socket, and all the stuff on the back is in parallel with those 32 broken out i/o pins, so they're optional.
