USB to UART breadboard adapter $5

For $5 this could be a good Prop-pdip breadboard usb programmer.
Though ebay have ftdi breakout boards I guess for ~$5 too?
The CP2104 built-in LDO does handle more power at 80-100mA, so it could power a Prop1 if you don't have many extra items also hooked up to Vdd 3.4v
RTS can be selected as open drain, so it may be connected directly to Prop reset pin, though I don't know if signal state need to be inverted first.
Warning: changing pin configuration is one-time-only thing.

That's cute, and I see it includes a cable too !
The evaluation kit includes:
CP2104 mini evaluation board
Mini USB extension cable
CP2104 mini quick start card
We use the CP2105, which is the Dual UART version for a few more cents.
The on-chip regulator is useful for very low cost systems.
My only grumble with Boards like this, is they forget to route
DSR DTR DCD RI
even to dummy pads.
