I just registered! Thanks for setting this up Dave. I would like to present a project, possibly with a student or two. It has to do with using the Propeller for near-space projects.

I just bought a ticket. FYI, your event says it starts at 7pm PDT. Shouldn't that be EDT?

My company would be more likely to pay for me to go.

Thanks Dave for catching that! I haven't had much time lately to do extra stuff.

For the expo we'll need to have someone bring a computer/projector/screen for the different speakers. We'll also need a 2-3 table and extension cords. If anyone can "pledge" for for the "computer/projector/screen" or a table please post here... that way we can all remind you. :)

As an FYI, I'm going to be announcing this conference to a group of engineers that I meet with in about 3 weeks and some other friends I've made in Boston. I know that at least 2 of them are very interested so make sure you get your ticket before they run out!

BTW I think this is going to be a really neat expo and I'm excited to put a face with a name. :)

    Dave,

I have a 6' table, and can probably get one more. There are none on site? maybe rent?

Do we need the tables Friday night?

I have a couple of tables I can bring on Saturday. I won't be able to make it Friday night.

Great, I figure it will be a "bring your own table" party. :) Unless there is a ton of movement with the tickets the expo will be at my apartment complex clubhouse. It's a gated community with a large clubhouse area that has great access off of the interstate and parking. Here is what part of the room looks like, there is also a dinning room and kitchen section.
    Clubhouse.jpg

I think it would be good to have a few of us get together on a conference call and make sure everything is covered.

There is a pool right outside... UWV figure eights? :)

Side note: we'll be less than 2 miles away from Boston Dynamic, Boston Engineering, and a whole host of other robot companies so bring your camera :)

I'm about to sign up, but I was wondering, if we don't hit 15, will it still go through?

Is anybody still considering a get together?

Hey Jim, The show will go on no matter the number :) I think that we'll have a good time and there will be lots of opportunities for people to share their projects and really dive deep. Plus food! :) I will be excited to see you there.

I'm interested in coming. I have been lucky enough to make it to almost every Propeller event over the last 6-7 years.

I'd probably just ride my motorcycle up from Erie, PA. It's not exactly a small trip being ~535 miles each way.

    Jim, That's good to hear!

How about you other guys and gals. Can we get some commitments?

Well, I'm afraid I don't have much to show unless you want to see a Basic prompt? I've spent far too much time writing tools for the Propeller and too little exploring it's abilities as a microcontroller.

So I'm in a bit of an awkward spot. My wife is going to be out of town this weekend which will make me a single dad. It's too far in the future to set up all day events on Saturday, so I don't know if I can make it or not.

Hey Martin, if everything else falls through you all could just stop by and hang out for a bit Friday night and Saturday. It would be fun to see who else is in the Boston area even if it is just for a little bit.

I'm a little concerned. I am the only one signed up so far, well David will be there. That's two.

Anyone else going? It's close to a three hour drive for me, and I do not want to do a six hour round trip just to shake Dave's hand.

Everybody that has been sitting on your hands, sign up! Ken said he will sent some goodies our way.

It's time to commit so we can have a good gathering. Let's show the rest of the country us Noreastern' guys can do it also.

Understand Dave. I have a race on Sunday, so I will be leaving Saturday night for home. Will be a hectic weekend, but worth it.

I signed up a VERY long time ago. Why are you thinking you are the only one? I haven't seen any kind of attendee list.

Hi Rich, according to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unoffic...ts-11674261029 there where still 15 available of 15. I thought I also signed up but got no confirmation. That's why I signed up again today.

I'm going to call Dave tonight to see how many attendees he has.

    Will report back.

Ok, I decided to sign up. I'll be riding my motorcycle up. My sister lives about 1-1/2 hour away so I have a place to crash and keep costs down.

I'll try to bring a few projects I have worked on. Not sure of they will all be Prop based, but micro-controller based for sure.

Hope to see more people sign up soon.

I also have a Projector I can bring if it's needed. I also have a screen, but may be difficult to bring on the bike.

Talking to Dave, looks like we have at least 6 committed, ( and I use that term loosely), and 4 that are looking.

I will tell you what I am bringing. A Parallax Quadrover and a Parallax Quadcopter.

We will be holding a no holds barred figure eight bot contest. Any BOT. Any control, IR, Pre-Programmed; etc . Fastest time, wins. Activity Bots will rule!

The prize will be determined. Parallax may send some items out for prizes.

    More info to follow.

I'd be very disappointed if Martin didn't show up with a few IK bots to demo, it's his town! Do the right thing, Martin, I'll be looking through the photos for action shots of you!

Too bad it wasn't on your Carolina trip. You presence would have been flamboyant.
