Posting to forum a bit broken recently?

Just recently my browsers on various machines have started asking me if want to leave the page and warning edits will be lost when I want to submit a quick reply. I can say no and try again and end up with duplicate forum posts or can say yes and the post goes through anyway.

Looks like others are having this problem as I have seen some duplicate posts turn up recently.

Me too. Things have gotten so bad that I now have about 4 or 5 alternative browsers on my notebook in Ubuntu Linux. I was trying to figure this out, but I fear the answer is to use OSX or Windows8.

When haven't commerical OSes been hostile to free OSes?

I do find that when I say 'yes' to leaving the page, my reply is posted to the Forum.

That's what I mean. It warns that I will loose my post if I leave the page. But the post goes through even if I do leave.
Initially, not wanting to loose anything I did not leave but then in the confusion ended up with duplicate posts.

See, it did it again just then. Is this only happening because submitting the post seems to take ages and then the browser times out and gets confused. It all happens very slowly here.

    I'm seeing the same thing.

It feels like an asynchronous POST issue.

Edit -- posted twice. The page never left the edit view.

I'm looking into this in the background. There are updates to the vBulletin software which may/may not correct the issues. Please bear with us in the mean time.

    Looks like a javascripting error.

Found a fix, but it disables 'quick reply'.
We will search for a different solution, until that time we'll call this an undocumented feature >.>

I've also moved the thread to support, and we will look more closely at this issue due to the level of annoyance it causes.
Sorry for the slightly disjointed posting you will experience until the issue is resolved.

I noticed a tab that said "InPrivate" at the very top of my browser. I haven't noticed it on other sites. I thought I disabled it but I've seen it since. Another irritation I had was having to click the email notification message window to make it active before I clicked the link or my browser would go to a blank page. It is not on my browser at the moment.

Lately when I respond or post, (when I am logged in) I lose Full HTML and am presented with basic HTML (text based, with hyperlinks).

I am not getting emails notifying me of replies to subscribed threads. Is this part of the vBulletin updates also?

Posting has gotten annoying to the point that I'm starting just to think the heck with it. I hope Parallax is able to fix this problem soon.

I've had similar issues but it seems to be intermittent? I'm running Safari on OSX 10.8.3 -

Just had a quick reply duplication again. It seems to take a long time to connect, then I get the leave page warning end I finally end up with two posts. NG.

FWIW, I posted this with quick reply, when I got the warning I cancelled (stay on page) and went advanced. Then I noticed that the post had already been sent. HTH

It is not at all consistent. I've been hopping between safari on my iPhone, Firefox and IE on win7 and Chrome on Android. The iPhone seemed the worst today - no "leave page" messages but everything double posted. The others get the leave page message sometimes but I tell it to leave and get a single post. Like Phil said it is getting frustrating trying to participate.

I was getting this earlier on IE8 but when I created a post in the Test Forum, I couldn't replicate it. Strange!

Is Parallax trying to resolve this problem? It is a pain-in-the-a$$
It seems like a server issue - maybe a time-out

Specifically that dialogue refers to leaving the page with the message there in the editor, presumably unsent. Not sure what's causing the message to remain in the editor like that though. Is the message actually being posted?

Yes, the message gets sent. I was not trying to leave the page - I clicked the "Post Quick Reply" button and the warning dialog appeared.

During a previous incident, I tried to post the message again (not sure that it was sent) and the forum software said something about a duplicate message and I think provided a link to the message - it had been posted...
