It's time for a CONTEST!!!

Hey all - it's CONTEST TIME!

The rules are simple:
Guess what medical "emergency" I experienced over Christmas and New Year's!!! You need to be very specific.

There are TWO of you that are immediately disqualified from entering and YOU AND I BOTH KNOW WHO YOU ARE ;-)

The prize is some little trinket or something I'll "pull out of my sleeve" :thumb:

DOH! You never let me have any fun!

Further, I suppose I'm also forbidden to tell someone and spit the prize?

    MattG's edit: no spitting erco.

My first guess was a kidney stone, but Dave beat me to it. In any event, if that's what you pulled out of your [ahem] "sleeve," I don't want it!

Hmmm. Christmas and New Years. ... Excessive indulgence brings on what? Gout? Liver failure? Nah! I don't think that's Matt's style.

I think I will go with anaphylaxis, from consuming something he didn't know he was allergic to -- twice. That's my final answer, and the prize better be good!

    Second prize: Two Arduinos!

Just kidding, I know PhiPi is a huge fan of C. NOT!

Is it when you had the incident with the quad on your workbench and had to have your lip stitched back together?

Edt: And to be specific you were working on an Elev8, plugged in a battery and it took off coming at you. Your lip got cut by one of the spinning blades and you had to have it stitched back together. Had you not been wearing eye protection you would have possibly been injured more severely. Is that specific enough?

I'm going to throw a guess out here and say you suffered through a root canal. That's my final answer.

Situation-specific amnesia caused by a rapid blood sugar increase after consuming donuts. It's actually happened to you more than twice, you just don't remember!

I'm guessing that you either broke a tooth or lost a filling or crown. I'm doubting kidney stone (spitting?) and anaphylaxis is not minor at all, so yeah... Tooth or crown.

I was going to guess broken/chipped tooth also, or maybe Matt just accidentally took a drink of something he shouldn't have.

Matt's 2013 Christmas will be one he wants to remember. After two years of pre-Christmas surprises he's really due for a positive family-oriented time off. This year we will probably quarantine Matt in a safe environment, hire a transport service to get him to/from Parallax, and hire a taster for all meals. If you figure out his Christmas 2012 "event" you'll see why 2013 is going to be a banner Christmas for MattG. But I don't think the 2012 incident had much to do with Parallax (really, I'm not just supposed to say that because of worker's comp issues).

Matt, are you expecting some kind of magical insight here among the forumistas? Seems it would almost take a news leak for them to guess. . .about your pregnancy, ahem, I mean the alien abduction thing.
