Man, I just love this Wave Glider sea robot. http://liquidr.com/technology/wave-glider.html One travelled from California to Australia with no external power! Another one survived Hurricane Sandy. I know it has patents, but I love the sea and waves and I have just got to build a small one for myself to see how it works - with a prop controller, of course. Can anyone add any experiences or ideas on building this type of robot?.

I am pretty sure I correctly recall a device like this that would take your baited fishing line far off-shore and then drop it for you. Of course, that required that you reel in your wave propulsion device on a long cord to ready it for the next time.
