After spending the weekend deep in PropBOE demos, I realized that I really missed having some I/O options.

What do you guys think of something like this? It would sit on top of the breadboard zone and provide IR, Keyboard, and Wii compatible connections.

If there's some interest, I'll finish this up and do a run of them.

Edit: Loaded final image.
Edit2: The boards are in! I tossed together a quick test unit to check it out. Perfect!

I'll take 20 sets. Please include the connectors, if possible. Contact me when they're ready.

Got the PCB's in today! They passed testing and will get kitted later this week.

I'm waiting for female SIP connectors (I just chopped down a 40pin connector for a quick/dirty test) -- Images are in the first post.

    Now my PropBOE is awesome!

We were able to secure a better price on a couple of the items used in this kit. Our savings is your savings. Price reduced on these. $13.99

These are also compatible with the new Propeller Activity Board.

I hadn't noticed this before. It's a nice compliment to the PropBOE. Makes it into a complete Propeller Computer with gaming possibilities! Just need to add a SPI flash chip in the prototyping area and it will make a nice platform for PropGCC. :-)

I'm going to make an XBee stack-on if no one else does. It would have SPI Flash/SRAM and Bluetooth.

@Jazzed, you tempt me.. :) I promised Rebekah our next PCB product order would be Prop2 related. :)

There is plenty of prototyping space on this product, shouldn't be too much of an issue to drop in the memory and Bluetooth connections.

Sure, but it's very inconvenient. I expect the volume will be high compared to some other things. I'll do a module with just flash now and add bluetooth later. If I finish the design by Sunday, I can have protos ready for the Expo. My plate overfloweth .....

    @Jazzed,

Drop in Vdd/Vss/four data connections for those inexpensive Bluetooth modules.

    Jeff

Does anyone have the documentation and sample code for this board?
If you do, can you please supply a link, or up-load the files (the files are no longer on propellerpowed.com)?

    Thanks,

    zappman

Hmmm. That document appears to have gotten crunched in our last forum reorganization. Not good.

I'll get into my source materials and post up some documentation. Please give me the day.

Jeff or anyone else on the forums,

I am still looking for the documentation and sample code for this board, can anyone please help me out?

    @zappman,

Sorry for the delay. I'm not sure what has become of my original documentation for this board.

Attached is an image that should help you get the unit built.

The idea here is to provide duplication of the existing PropBOE/Activity Board connection on the left side,
then provide breakout access to Keyboard, Wii, and IR connections on the Right.

The keyboard circuit is "parallax standard" and will work with existing code in obex. The wii and IR connections have code in obex as well.

Since this is a discontinued product, I'm posting the DIPTRACE .dip file with the build image. This product should now be considered Open Source under the Creative Commons license.

If there is interest, I have a good batch of PCBs. I'll make them avaible as PCB only for $4.00 each which includes shipping to the US. PM me.

    Hi Jeff,

Thank you for all the information in your post, including the Diptrace files.

I believe, I have the information I need to use the Keyboard, Wii, and IR connections on the board.

I am going to try to use the Wii connection with my "Wii Classic Pro" controller.

Later, I want to use the IR receiver to respond to commands from an IR remote control.

    Regards,

I buzzed out the PropBOE I/O Shield board (Rev B) and created the attached schematics.
