I just ordered one of these on Monday and it arrived in Wednesday's mail. Of course, being cheap I didn't buy the "complete" kit and had to go back to Propellerpowered and pick up a couple of things, but it looks like a fun project. I noticed a couple of "shiny things" I want to add to the mini later on. (Gotta surround myself with those "shiny things")
Just want to thank Jeff for the fast shipping and his responsiveness in correcting a mistake I made in ordering!!!!!
He's good at both of those!! I live close enough to Jeff that if I can get an order in before he does his afternoon mail run, it's in my mailbox the next day.
I really hate it when a company doesn't ship my package ASAP, so I really make it my best effort to fill all orders with 24 hours of when your order was placed. (weekdays). Sometimes it may even mean hiking your packages out on foot. (Like today, car is required elsewhere.)
@Amanda, I'm including the proper female connector with your Universal MicroSD adapter since I know where you'll be using it.
I've had an awesome time creating the PMC/VGAplus256 project. I'm please you guys are enjoying it.

Thanks Jeff! The additional parts arrived this afternoon! Hoping to have the whole gadget working by the weekend. (Deathly afraid of soldering something in wrong/backward. Taking a huge amount of time building this!)
If y'all need some cool Quickstart add-ons, give Propellerpowered a look!
With some trepidation and a decent nights sleep, I started putting together the micro SD card adapter this afternoon. With everything taped in place under the magnifying glass, the soldering tip looked the size of a fence post! It was a new tip tho', bought just for this project and I dug out a spool of some ancient solder from my military days (Really small gauge stuff).
The process went surprisingly smooth, but as I pulled away from the last joint I saw a tiny bridge 'tween two connections. Thankfully as panic began to set in, my soldering hand twitched slightly and the unsightly glob was gone.
Looking the work over, I wasn't real happy with the appearance of the joints, so I went back and reheated each one. Much better!
The only problem I found was somewhere between taping the part down and soldering the connections, the SD socket shifted a tiny bit. I don't think it's a big issue. Just annoys me! <grrr>

Back to assembling things I can actually see!

Congrats on your success with what sounds like your first SMT soldering job! Those sockets are a good place to see beginner success.
If you have any trouble with it, don't hesitate to speak up.
