I can't be the only one... https://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/txtSearch/910-32005/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/876/Default.aspx

A $60 value for only $25? No two alike (unlike the Anniversary Mystery Bag)... did I get the Quadrover?

Well, I have yet to really buy anything for robotics. So... I will be getting two of these and seeing what I get maybe encourage me to do projects I would have otherwise not considered?!

Sly - that's what happened with me. I had never tinkered with the PING))) sensor before, but after receiving them in the past mystery bag offering I found out how much fun they could be.

Dave - I think it is a good way to learn and it pushes you creatively. Though in my order I will be adding a PING))) so hopefully I don't get another, but then if I do get one Ill just have to make adjustments to use 2 PING's instead of one. =P

I'm so tempted to try again but am weary of the postal system losing this one too.

I saw that too. I'm seriously tempted, but I just spent a fair amount on black Friday, and I haven't had a chance to use all that gear yet.

...my two stockings arrived today! And how cute they are.

    Such a deal!!! :thumb:

I'm now exposed to more sensors with which to tinker (where ever am I going to find the time?).

Thank you Parallax - Merry Christmas to all!

Best of all, it REALLY came in a fuzzy fabric stocking!

Nice selection of sensors & input devices, Ken. Bravo!

4x4 Membrane keyboard, tilt sensor, hall effect sensor & magnet, sound impact sensor,LPG/natural gas sensor, and a PING))) !

I'm assuming my Quadrover is being shipped seperately. :)

I got 2 Bags, and from initial looks I think it will push me to do different projects, which was the intention.

They were shipped to my parents house which is 3 hours away so I had my dad open it for me.

It looks like I got: A Ping)) , 2 Sound Impact Sensors, 2 4X4 Number pads, a 4 Directional Tilt Sensor, MQ-5 Gas Sensor.

And being as I am new to this stuff, I am going to need some help from you guys to identify the rest of it (No part numbers)

Each picture is from a different stocking.

Dad Didn't feel comfortable opening the foam wrapped items.

    Thank you in advance!

Sly - the "foam wrapped" objects are magnets for the Hall-effect sensor (looks like a TO-92 transistor pack).

The rest appears to be miscellaneous hardware including a mini-screwdriver to set the threshold on the Sound Impact sensor.

    Have fun!

The crimp-on terminal was a blast from the past. It's no Fahnestock clip, but it's got a few GenY techies scratching their heads!

I thought the crimp terminal was little of out of place. I don't see myself ever using that for my projects as they will all be pretty small. I had to look up a Fahnestock clip, I don't think I have ever seen one, seems like a good concept though, except for their size. and the fact the entire piece is conductive.

I'll be ordering one of these just as soon as paypal drops my funds into the bank account, (claim 3-5 days) if I'd been quicker on the trigger, I could have ordered one today and paid via paypal, but the wife saw the funds were there, and started the bank transfer before I saw this deal *cry* (time to change the paypal password I guess) :)

Anyway, should be loads of fun if it's anything like the mystery bag I got before.
    Great fun to be sure.

I purchased two bags. Both bags contained:

1 Christmas stocking (containing the parts)
    1 4x4 Matrix Membrane Keypad
    1 Ping))) Ultrasonic Distance Sensor
    1 4-Directional Tilt Sensor
    1 Sound Impact Sensor
    1 Parallax Propeller Christmas Ornament
    1 VGA Connector
    1 'Grab bag' with:
    (1 Melexis 90217 Hall-Effect Sensor)
    (1 Magnet)
    (2 different tactile switches)
    (2 different crimp connectors)
    (2 different barrel (power) jacks)
    (small slotted screwdriver)

One of the bags contained an additional 'Grab bag', but the bags were identical otherwise.

Ditto JLock...save for the stockings themselves were different and I didn't receive an ornament.

One stocking contained a honkin' big AC toggle switch!

    Apparently, they're still shipping them.
I put in an order on Friday, (paypal funds dropped in bank earlier than expected) and I was told at the time that the person who could make the call on whether they would sell more or not wasn't in yet (slacker) :) so I said to put it on my order anyhow, and if it could be added, great, if not, that was ok too. My card got charged the full amount of the order, so I'm assuming it got added. Guess I'll find out this week. Should be here Monday or Tuesday, it usually only takes a few days for my orders to show up.
Love these kind of grab bag items. I almost always get something I wanted to try but didn't know if it would work for me or not, these grab bags/mystery items work wonders for me, since I'm always finding new things I can find uses for.

Was just taking a good look at the new 'Propeller Project Board USB' and discovered where the VGA connector will go! And I've got two!
