Some of you have been contacting me regarding the next BulkBuy of those "Serial to Wifi" modules.

Here it is..

BulkBuy2: RS232 TTL Serial to WIFI 802.11 b/g/n Converter

We're going to shoot for 20 people on this order. Same rules as before. We need to achieve the required orders before the countdown clock on the page expires on December 7th. If the required order levels are not reached, all money will be refunded using Paypal's refund button.

You can read the details about BulkBuy #1's success here. We were able to get them in everyone's hands within two weeks of the announcement. It's safe to say with the holiday season on us, that it'll be at least 3 to 4 weeks this time. Naturally, if I can get them out sooner I will! There are no experts on these *yet*, but there are now at handful of people getting them this weekend. Consider yourself on the "cutting edge" on this one.

I'm opening this Bulkbuy to everyone with US shipping totals at $39.99 and the rest of the world at $45.99

Have fun!

Jeff

I hopped on this bandwagon. I'd like to get more than 1, but I did just one for now, so others could get in. If you end up not getting enough in this one then let me know and I will order more.

I ordered one as well . Would like to order more but wasn't sure how you handle the shipping for multiple units.

The price of $39.99 was figured to include shipping costs. The price was then reduced so that it would total correctly when you got the shipping amount added (automatically in our system.) If you guys wind up doing more than a couple, I'll make sure we treat everyone fairly. We're at 3 of 20 right now.

After spending the afternoon at the shop playing with the module, I'm even more impressed with them than I was..

Here's quick & dirty guide to getting them up and running as a tcp server.

Here's a very simple webserver example for the Propeller using the Wifi module.

You'll want to set your AT+TCPTO=10 (or maybe a little lower) to make the socket connection close in a reasonable amount of time after the page is transmitted. There is probably a smarter way to close the socket connection, but I haven't found it yet in the HTTP specification.

Edit: moved to it's own thread...

We're around 1 units from 10. I'll push out the first half of this order once those 2 units are sold. This should speed things up a little.

    Edit: Updated

I've got another promised order expected tonight. (making it 11 of 20) I've got a "go ahead" from Propellerpowered's finance department to go ahead and place the order for 20 units even before we reach the goal. This will make this item a "stock item" for Propellerpowered.

We will keep the "BulkBuy" open on these so the order will be "first come, first serve" on the remaining 9 units.

I've also got a hobby friendly "RevA" breakout board for these designed. As soon as it is double checked for size, then triple checked, I'll push it out to production.

20 units were just ordered. Those of you who have already ordered will not have to wait another week.

7 of these units are still up for grabs.

I've got one more pass (triple check) on this design before I send it out for production, but I thought you guys might appreciate a nice breakout for these. (I know I want one)

    Jeff;

I'd like to have two of these devices, but I'm still out of the country on vacation for another two weeks, and I don't carry my paypal account number or USVisa card number with me. So, can I reserve two and deal with this after I return, or must I miss the boat again?

Sorry for being such a pain.

    Cheers,

    Peter (pjv)

    Peter,

I believe there are still 5 or 6 on this order which are not claimed at this point.

I'll pull them from active inventory and set them aside for you. Just email me when you get back.

Jeff- Will these be available in time for the next shipment? How much?

Could you put a magjack on there rather than breaking out the TX+/- & RX+/- pins?

You may need to add a 1.8v reg.

    +1 for the magjack

and having rts/cts in the same header as rx/tx 6 most important not 4 ...

    cool thing

    Enjoy!

Since I've placed an order for a small run of the initial breakout board, I'll look at the magjack for a revision.

BTW, just got a tracking number... :)

It's just a DHL number.. There's no juicy data in it yet. I'll post when there is. :)

I expect to have these within 7 days, (providing Santa traffic doesn't get in the way.)

Here's the DHL tracking for this item. Figure I need a day (or two tops) to connect each one and make sure it powers up and works in AP mode, then I'll ship them all out.

    http://www.dhl.com/content/g0/en/express/tracking.shtml?brand=DHL&AWB=3008759880%0D%0A

There is still one of these unclaimed as of this morning. Shall I order 10 more of these or did eveyone who wanted one get one?

    That was fast Jeff,
Received your package in the mail today.

The package is empty? What's up with that? Oh wait, there it is hidden in a corner.
You were not kidding, that thing is tiny.

Now just what am I going to do with it?

Should be about 25 or so people here with these soon.
Hope to see what all you others are doing/going to do with these.

    Good God Roger,

You about gave me a heart attack! :):) Requesting Santa drop some small bits for coal your direction for that one. :)

I was packing/shipping those as fast as I felt I could correctly get them out to make the mail yesterday.

I can't wait to see what cool projects emerge from these as well.

Really, a heart attack. Not funny for anyone.

My first thought was to say it in two separate posts.
I decided that might cause real concern. You can thank me later for saying it all at once.
This way, it's just a gag.
