+1 for the hat too .. it's been I think .. "the 3rd thing I searched after the chip" .. it's like "there has to be a Parallax hat with a propeller in the store" .. sadly there's not.
Very tempted to get one around somewhere .. you should always wear it while coding for Propeller
Winter is here, and Christmas is soon.
What we all need is a hand-knitted Klien Bottle Hat and a Mobius Strip scarf with the Propeller Beanie logo on them.
I found this cool site that makes apparel and hats as they are ordered. It is meant for schools, teams, and groups, but we're a robotics team, right?
Anyway, if you'd really like something that says Parallax on it, you can choose whatever you like best. Could be fun.
I was surprised there aren't any hats either. If you decide to make a nice looking baseball style cap, I'd get a couple. It would be fun to rock one with my daughter for the science fair exhibit at her school! ;-)
"And" I take it to the cleanersI I don't want it to lose it's shape! It cost me $30 but I wanted a fitted NY Yankee cap. The Yankees suck big-time but I'm proud to be part of the Parallax community. I'd wear the Parallax logo any day. (Not the beanie)
Hi Phil,
Thanks for that link! No, I hadn't gone to that page yet. I'll show my daughter and see what she wants to pick for the Science Fair night in January.
I say let's take a lesson from the Coke bottle. The interlocked L's are distinct and trademarked. Anyway, I only put that together in software. It's just an idea. I think the community should promote the Parallax brand.
I found a guy who can make embroidered hats here in LA. I asked about a dozen khaki hats with navy trim & embroidery. His preview (needs work) attached. $7 each plus shipping. Anybody interested ?
Done. Very nice quality hats for cheap: a dozen hats only cost me just $60, which included a one-time setup fee of $12, so these hats really only cost $4 each, cash and ready for pickup in a sketchy area of downtown LA. Glad I went in broad daylight today, some gang banger parked behind me immediately after I parked and was casing my car, so I called the vendor to come out and meet me on the street!
Before I get barraged for requests, it would cost more to mail these things individually than they cost, that's a doggone shame. They would need to be in a box. I'm tempted to just mail them to Ken and let him divvy them up anyway he sees fit. Next time Parallax has an onsite event, I'd be happy to get a few dozen made and drive them up there, that would be a cost-effective way to distribute. Or Ken, you might decide to get another batch made yourself. I'm open to suggestions...
Edit: there's room to add "Equip Your Genius" on the next batch, if desired.
Nice Hats! I like the fact that they are "real" hats, not those flat "cro-magnon" ones. Does the outfit you bought them at sell on line? I'd probably pick up a couple if they did.
Good Job!
I'd love to get a couple of these for my daughter and I to wear at her science fair in a couple weeks. How fast does he get them done? If I put in an order, would anyone like some for cost + actual shipping? No idea, but the shipping might be more than the hat! :P
I don't mind being the guy that does it, but I think Parallax should really do this one. You could easily charge $10 per hat like most places, and make 100% profit for your time (assuming $5 shipped to Parallax is their cost when doing a large order).

Of course you know that bisecting a Klien Bottle resuts in two Mobius Strips - one with a left twist and the other with a right twist?

Interesting. Why number 34? Why no official Parallax logos?
I was thinking it would be cool to create an asymetrical located logo on New York Yankees hat, just to be different.
Of course, Parallax could be the Yankees to the innovation and have an interesting baseball cap. And yes, why 34?

That's only got 6 cog's
Needs to have a BOEBOT. Parallax does not carry Arms, (yet).

Hats are everyday, t-shirts not so much if you want friends!
Jim's gonna steal future headlines by making the first seeing-eye PARALLAX hat.
I think Parallax should order one for every VIP Member. Shouldn't cost more than 100 bucks. Nice present for the holidays.
Is there a minimum quantity?

Maybe now is a good time to revise the title of this thread or at least marked it solved?
Really? Why? It was never "Unsolved" in the first place.
