Everyone,

Loopy sent me a note regarding lack of access to the Wiki. Something has happened on my end that I don't get requests to join. Sorry about that. I will get it fixed, and likely open the wiki up to general editing.

Cardboardguru and I are admins of the Wiki, and it appears I'm the one left. Working on it. Again, sorry. I didn't know there was an issue.

Ideally, edits can be made to catch it up.

    Thanks, potatohead.
Propeller.wikispaces.com seems to be an important source of information and really needs to keep up to date. But, there is a tendency for the work to maintain such informational sites to become overwhelming.

The worst of all worlds is to keep it up and running with out-dated info that makes people wary of using the Propeller.

How can info about the propeller be outdated? The propeller does not change, so the info about it is stable as well!

The website is about computer languages supported by the Propeller. Such as C and Forth and Basic. Also about IDEs, such as BST and the new SimpleIDE.

While you are right and the Propeller has remained the same, software has gone through huge improvements and we now have a Large Memory Model that makes writing or simply porting programs in C to the Propeller quite possible.

For instance, there are several Forth compilers written in C that now might work quite well to provide applications on the Propeller. And we have pfth and TachyonForth interpreters that are alive and well, but not mentioned.

Ok, I see a HUGE backlog of requests. Smile. :( It was a poorly thought out gmail filter. My account has been active with gmail since the beginning, and because I am fairly active on the net, it gets a TON --I mean a serious amount of e-mail each day. At some point, I was bound to botch a filter. This was that botch, and it's been dealt with. Sorry all. Let's fix it.

I approved 'em all. Most of you will get an e-mail notification. Please proceed to make your edits with no worries. (hope there wasn't a spammer in there, I'll have to watch)

    These users: 1_Allen_Archer,losarxidos,kjrp,jaikataria,tcharles2,radaliendad,SONIC-THE_HEDGEHOG...

won't get an e-mail, because they did not supply what wikispaces required to do that. I think this is e-mail notification. Feel free to just request again.

Given this backlog, I think it's safe to say Cardboardguru has not been active in the wiki for some time. That means we need at least one more organizer level user. The two of us thought at least one would remain active and able to manage things. We ended up right, if a bit delayed on it all.

I just checked, and I have the permission to do that elevation. Cardboardguru is the creator, and that's not going to change. I did get a note on the creator needing to verify e-mail. Hope I can get around that and just complete their anti-spam requirement for Cardboardguru. I've sent off a message to that effect. We shall see what the verdict is.

If you are interested in helping to organize the Propeller Wiki, send me a PM, and I'll get a few of us elevated so this resource can live on even if a few of us end up on some other path.

As a precaution, I'm exporting that wiki right now to a local archive, just in case... What is there won't be lost.

    Exports:

I have attached the PDF export for reference. This might make catching up on edits, or identifying things to edit easier, and or serve as a nice local resource.

Organizers can perform this task regularly. We might consider an account upgrade too, depending on interest. If you use the wiki, chime in below. It's not a lot of $$$ and I can step up first, or maybe we leave it as is too. Let me know what you all think.

Edit: Dang! This is a cool PDF. Nice feature. IMHO, this is a great reason to bring all the new stuff in to the wiki. We get a document like this, from time to time. In the past, I've done HTML exports just for safe keeping. Never tried the PDF! :)

Another edit: No general editing. SPAM is too high. Please request membership, and I or another organizer will get you signed in at which point you can do what you need / want to do.

Regarding PropellerForth, Cliff L. Bittle's web site at Cliffle.com is still up and running, but the PropellerForth sub-directory pages are 404

I guess that means this entry should be retired. Maybe contact him to confirm.

I would make an edit to reflect the 404. If you want to contact Cliff, feel free. Generally speaking, it's good to know that Forth was done, and people can at least ask others about it, or go digging... This forum likely contains some code.

Cliff seems to be extremely protective of his email address as he works for Google.... maybe impossible to penetrate his moat.

I will try to get the status of all Forth on the Propeller as we may have more inactives. And we certainly have two newcomers --- Tachyon Forth and pfth.

For history's sake it would be nice to preserve who and what became inactive. One never knows whether they might revive or just appreciate that they were mentioned as once was.

Feel free Loopy. Do the right thing as you see it. The Wiki saves back revisions, so it's not too big of a deal to recover from an edit gone wrong. No worries.

@Everyone: I see an edit or two happening. I've some info to put up there myself in the coming weeks.

Good news! We got the status of the wiki resolved. The support staff went ahead and verified the wiki manually. What we need now is at least one more organizer. This doesn't mean you need to do anything. It only means you've got the permissions needed to do what I'm doing now, which is get it sorted, and approve new contributors, should things go south.

I'm half tempted to elevate 5 people at random who have made contributions, just in case! :)

For the time being --and that could be a considerable time, I'll continue to approve membership requests and such. The wiki itself has public status for the longer term.

Call for at least ONE organizer. Maybe I'll have to do what Cardboardguru did; namely, just pick a couple and let them know...

That strategy worked. I'm here able to fix stuff and carry the wiki forward. All being an organizer really involves is checking in from time to time to approve membership requests. The rest gets done by users.

BTW: Two new signups. This user "fabian_galvan1" didn't get an e-mail, because one was not supplied on sign up. Approved.
