Though I've not read any of the thread Ken mentioned but to me, any defamation which especially targeted at a personal level is simply uncalled for. If such were to happen over here where I live, the defamed can bring the defamer to court. Guess we're all in a community that's globally connected so any particular legal system will not apply.
Nevertheless, tolerance-level in this forum is a lot higher than what I've seen in others. Therefore, to use it with appreciation would benefit anyone rather than otherwise.
A side note: Ken, dunno if it is at all possible but I agree with Bill that you should still engage some form of legal action in response.
Hello,
... we shall carefully protect your environment. You shall be comfortable on our forums.
This is exactly why there are moderators and why we've had to make certain decisions in our own forums/irc. Bravo for encouraging a safe environment for all involved! And I second/third/fourth all of those who are continually amazed by Parallax as a truly respectable company.
Moderators can not do everything. It is much better if everyone tries to be moderate and not feed the bonfires of vanity.
What I do appreciate herein is that the moderators have to do so little. When they do step in, they can just become the obvious target for a rather obnoxious poster.
I support the increased moderation in this forum. That is what makes us all feel comfortable and at home.
Back then I was at the other electronics forum. Guess what? Every month I get to read people bickering about which one is right or wrong and these went out of control. I can list all of what things that make any human cringe in that place - but I prefer to spare that.
Here, it's all nice. I get advices and opinions perfectly here. Plus, the Parallax products are awesome too.
I like it when a totally ridiculous post on the General Discussion list turns into a lofty, erudite, cultural-horizon-expanding mindmeld of embedded microprocessor enlightenment.

You know the first time they tried this, the background turned blue and things stopped working? Then there was a security upgrade for Adobe Flash!

Of course, most of the folks here have been nothing but awesome.
