The quad mode is great. Solves a problem I have - these should be able to receive from the prop using 1 pin, then 'replay' it 4 bits wide x 262144 deep.
I just ordered some of the 23LC1024's in various packages, expect delivery friday
You have also a new release of the companion chip with built in crystal FM31T378
I have used with success its predecessor the FM31L278 with the P1 as the eeprom substitute.
Performance & Power:
• Full Quad SPI command set
• 52 Megabytes/sec bandwidth for reads and writes
• Higher clock frequency – up to 104MHz
Packaging / Compatibility:
• SOIC-16 300 mil, 7.5mm x 10.3mm body size
• Pinout Compatible with NOR Flash Quad SPI offerings
• Same package planned for future higher density offerings
Looks like they are following a NOR Flash Quad SPI offering, in SOL16.
Surprising to see such a thick package chosen, for new products ?
That is very interesting actually... Had to look up MRAM, but it sounds great!
non-volatile, unlimited life, no write delay...
Only downside I've heard is that uses more power.
I can't find the SQI for sale though..

I guess I should start working on a PropGCC cache driver...
