Is it possible to use a SPI flash in place of the SRAM? That would allow big C programs to run.

From my quick glance at the datasheet for the Winbond W25X40BV, it looks like a match, but as yet untested..

Maybe I'll have to order one of your boards and test it! :-)

Just ordered one. I'll let you know how it works with PropGCC as soon as I get it and assemble it. PropGCC can work with either a SPI flash chip or a SPI SRAM chip. I'll try both.

    Thanks David!

I'll ship it out tomorrow! I simply don't have a SPI flash chip handy to test with as I was preoccupied with SPI SRAM. :)

Naaah... I just got the "old" one two days ago :-(
(joking, will get this new one next time... btw, thanks OBC and Nick)

OTOH the old version leave the pads exposed, which is exactly what I needed for a project.

I have both so I'll verify that both cache drivers will work. I won't be able to check the SD card though since I didn't order one of those.
