Hey, way cool! Glad I could help Paul win. This will make a great birthday present! (I hit the big 4-0 on Sunday) I actually figured Phil's scissored sticker was going to take the cake. Anyhow, for shipping, my address will be 599 Menlo Drive, Rocklin, CA from 5:30-8pm tomorrow. :thumb:
We're going to print on "re-stickable" stickers. That way the customer can remove the sticker from the speaker package and put it around the cable itself as an indicator of its short-comings. (we'll have WBA add this to the image - ok WBA?)
Ok, no problem, but I am not clear on what I am adding..........
Thanks for all your entries! You old-timers know that Ken starts Contests like this all the time- you new guys, take heart! Stick around, keep entering, your day may be sooner than you think.
(Truth be known, there were so many great ideas, Ken told me "YOU MAKE THE CALL !"...which, when translated really means "Tough choice, you take the heat"...)
- Is it getting warmer in here?
Congrats to the winners!
I am one of those losers that Matt is talking about, but will enter in the next contest that Ken starts so I can win something else.
Congrats to the winners and to Ken and Matt for the prizes.
I love the idea of the dual use sticker/label. I thought someone would suggest Phils idea be stuck to the box with sticky tape on the unused edge.
BTW I could not read the text on the winning entry and some of the others. Perhaps it is just this Xoom as I have not looked with my laptops.
Good choice chief and 3. "Hey you!" Just the right touch of humor.
I suggest a beta test, attach the label to a few of these cables and leave them lying around in the doughnut room. See if anybody picks one up and later cries foul!
Yesterday I went to the Embedded Systems Show in San Jose (now called Design West). Ken, if you were wondering what happened to all your FAE's, that is where they were--Cat's out of the bag. It was fun to run into them, talking to the Nordic Semi Rep about low power bluetooth. Nowhere near as much fun though as when Parallax used to set up a booth there, always drew a crowd.

We'll be there next year, for certain. Spring 2012 brought event planning to a new height for Parallax:
Maker Faire
Parallax EXPO/UPEW
USA Science Festival
UPEC
China/HK/Taiwan
NYC Adafruit Ask an Engineer
At least four hackerspace/DIY den meetings
Momentarily our staff will start to disperse around the county. The next two months are going to be very busy for us, and depending on Propeller 2 shuttle run timing could be even more demanding.
Several new products in the queue will keep our production staff running two shifts at times. Emic 2, a new Prop Proto Board, and the QuickStart Human Interface Board are about to hit the line.
Thank you for saying hello to the crew. Wish I could have joined too, but I've had a commitment during the day at my kid's school to run a robotics program through the end of the year. Today we're learning to solder. . .not sure what certain kids will do with 800 F in their hands.
Ok, no problem, but I am not clear on what I am adding...
Hey WBA -
I'm thinking to add something like:"remove this sticker, and wrap it around one end of the cable to identify it's limitations"(way to wordy, work your magic- and earn your prop boe...???
"Yea" rhymes with Nay and is kind of an old fashioned form of "yes"
"Yeah" is the lazy form of "yes".
Maybe text to the tune of:
"PSST! Yeah, you!
The included cable? It's only for charging, not programming.
Use this label to mark it so you don't do something stupid...
like I did!"

Is Parallax going to be at the Maker Faire in Michigan at the Henry Ford Museum? Also, is the original UPENE still on the list?
It would be great to hear more about the EMIC 2 board and new Prop Proto board since they could be very useful for building robots.

That rings a bell, but I can't quite place it...
