The idea is that the label, with peel-off backing can be taped to the Veho360 box, or just included loose in the shipment. Once the user trims off the top part, he can peel off the backing and stick it to the cable.
With all my youthful enthusiasim and determination to win I am going to design a ton of stickers! Surely you will be able to find something you like out of the ones that I'm gonna make!
Here's my entry, it's a play on engrish and adequately expresses the stupidity of the chinese supplier (or dumb designer that said "yeah, we only need power").
Here's my first lot! Remember, they are all 2" x 1". They *should* fit within what you need. If there are any you like, but they are not quite right, just tell me and I'll tweak them to your satisfaction
They are also all .png files:
Heh.. I'm getting into the swing of making these... I foresee a good 10+ more to come...
Note: Not all of them are my original idea, i.e. "Step 1: Plug both ends.." that one was from the first poster's comment!

I can provide as PDF or Open Office Draw format.
Darn! That is a good one. I am now afraid of loosing!
@John Board - Actually it could work but would require Parallax staff to trim the backing from each label by hand so the the adhesive under the cut away section was still intact. That would likely triple or even quadruple the man-hours required to apply the labels.

They can have them printed with the backing already split. I really think they need to do something other than a sticker that says throw it away. It sends the message that they made you pay for something you didn't need.
I also think they need to include a proper USB cable for programming, and it should have a tag identifying it as the proper cable for programming.
The current plan has a user getting a cable they are told to throw away, yet has no cable to do what they need.
Think of it as providing a "Positive" solution, versus a "Negative" solution.
"Don't use that" doesn't give the user what they need, "Use this" does.
I think you should forget the sticker completely. You have a group of enthusiastic Parallax fans showing up there in a couple weeks for the robotics and expo. Make them do some work.
Make everyone who shows up open at least one package and remove or swap out the cable or they can't attend. If they work on more than one package, they get other benefits. You could have different levels. If they do enough, they get to meet MattG, Ken, Chip, etc. Whoever does the most gets a free Prop BOE.
You'll probably have plenty of kids there who would do it just to see who could do the most in 15 minutes.
You will need to stock up on round clear stickers to reseal the packages.
(By the way, none of this is motivated by the fact that I had to cancel my plans to show up for UPEW.)
I like roboworkshops NOTICE with a smaller diagram of Tracy's without the wording in black
Perhaps the wording could be...
The included USB cable is for charging theVeho Speakers.
This cable lacks the wires to do communications, so it will not work with your PropBOE, or any other USB device.

Here is what I mean by the heat shrink tag. This started as 1/2" tubing and a sharpie, and that slips over the mini-USB and shrinks down to a secure marker.
For preprinted lengths, three lines at most for impact as a reminder.
Matt/Ken, I have two rolls left from an 8 roll pack of Zebra 18928 labels that can be donated for this if needed. They were excessed from inventory about 2 years ago and I hung on to them because they are perfect size for propeller pinout stickers. I was working on a project to use a propeller board to send serial data to a Zebra printer with these labels loaded. Then, at the expo, an attendee could push a button and have a propeller print it's own label! Just never got around to finishing the project.
@WhateverYourNameWhichICan'tCurrentlyRemember: As you said, it is possible to print them, then have the Parallax staff cut the back... but... also as you said, it would quadrouple the production time... not really worth it...
(I'm getting desperate and trying anything now!)
I would have put in some more designs.. but it so happens that while I was asleep o'er here in Aust. you guys had all day to be making good stickers

I glad someone found it humorous!
Never the less, its a clever idea.

Power!
Shrink on cable
only!
I modified it ever so slightly :
It may not be exactly humorous but it has the advantage of being multi-lingual.
And in any case, who wants to read a lengthy report on a small label ?

I don't know about it's size... but I think that one is pretty good
@Phil: If it could work, I think that one would be great too
MattG, MattG! One benefit of crowd-sourcing is to save money, but this is getting expensive. And the winner is?
I'll bring a bunch of Hot Wheels to Expo. Winners get first pick!
