I think batchgeo has problems - using the RadioShack site store locator it found 12 stores within 10 miles of my zip code...

You have five RS stores within 20 miles? Cripes! That must extrapolate to about 100 Starbucks, then!

Just for giggles I did the store locator for my location and came up 50+ Radio Shacks within 20 miles of me. But that just describes the suburban sprawl that is Chicagoland. I don't even want to THINK about the number of Starbucks.

Gasp! I can't imagine... I may be just a country rube living in the sticks, but I'll bet I can get to the one in Port Angeles that's 40 miles away more quickly than you can to one there that's, say, 10 miles away.

I would mostly agree with that statement, unless I am on my motorcycle! :cool: Luckily my closest RS is about 3-4 miles away. Just for fun go to the RS website and punch 60563 in for the zip in the store locator and you will see what I am talking about.
There are a few within 50 miles of me but I think I'll wait until they get closer. I've got enough work on the projects I have parts for to keep me busy for a long time! :-)

I just came back from the Troy Commons store, they had nothing.
I asked and was told they do not always get what RS lists them as getting.
She said she has been dissappointed in not getting items before so we will
wait and see. I am sure they would be happy to have them.
The Oakland Mall store I visited during the summer has a couple of employees
who are very interested in DIY and while interested where very newbe to DIY but
asked a lot of questions about breadboards and parts and what Parallax is.
For those not in Michigan. The Troy Commons store is at 16 and John R and
the Oakland Mall store is at 14 and John R.
Both stores are interested in getting the parts.

I just called the Troy store to ask about this before I saw your post! I was going to stop by there during lunch today but was tied up. I guess we'll wait and see when it finally comes in. This is a convenient location since I can get there at lunch.
I may stop at MicroCenter by 14 and I-75 (next to Oakland mall) since some of those stores were supposed to start getting some Parallax items too. They already have quite a few SparkFun items hanging up there.
I could not figure out the problem with the map in Post #59 that is missing 35 locations. Must be a problem with the abbreviations used in the address.
Bummer... Three NH locations and not one in the state capital(Concord):(

I can count 9 radioshacks within an hour (by bike) of me and about twice as many Starbucks.
Hmm. I have at least ten within 20 miles, and I believe 13.
Only two of them are on the list of stores getting the hangtag Parallax stuff, though.
