    Hey Micro,

How did Mike Green get omitted from the Most Helpful list?

I would like to nominate Andrel for this post

as "Best Example of Proper Design and Testing"

@Phil: Really? Mike Green in the list? Would that even be fair?
I omitted him because I knew that if he was in the list, no one in their right mind would vote for anyone else. As I stated earlier: Members who are either a Parallax Star Contributor or a VIP forum member cannot be in any of the polls. I don't know how you managed to slip in there. :-)

I'll still give them recognition as "So good it made the contest unfair to include them..." at the end.

What would be wrong with that?

But, seriously, if you're going to enforce the criteria for inclusion, please delete my name from the list of nominees.

    Thanks,

@Phil: You can't modify the poll once it's up, so looks like your here to stay.
Seriously, you do understand my reasoning behind this, right? I could put Chip Gracey on all the polls, and he would win no matter what. Same with Mike Green. The point of the competition is to give recognition to those that don't already have it.

Maybe it would just be best going forward to make sure you are being consistent.
I'm trying to be helpful with this. It's a life lesson thing. We have all had to learn it.

Since I can't change it now - next year, everyone will be in the polls who is nominated, including VIP members, Star Contributors, etc. I'm sorry that this has upset some.

I thought it was just fun. That's all it really is.

One thing you can do is work on categories that help highlight people in different ways. Might be helpful in your quest for some balance.

    Micro,

I'm not upset -- honored, actually, by the nomination. But, in order to keep things ... um ... orderly -- and consistent -- I would urge people not to vote for me.

@Phil: You got my vote & Mike Green has ALWAYS got my vote.

I've not seen any better online community than the regulars at on these forums.

There should be a new catagory for the most viewed thread. No need for a poll here! If I am not mistaken, it would have to go to heater for ZOG who has over 32,000 views. Not that I am sure what we can do with it, but it is certainly active. :)

@Cluso99: Most viewed thread? Hmm... Can we have some more nominees? I'd be glad to put it up.

Way, way back in time, I made a comment (facetiously, as usual) and poor Heater said that "I had made him think".
Zog is so far above my head that I didn't even feel the draft yet poor, poor Heater has been locked into that thinking for so, so long.

    Sorry Heater.

( I would thrash myself with sprigs from a Holly bush here in my garden as penance, but isn't that the sort of stuff that your lot do for fun in the snow??)

    Toby,

From the Zog.spin header "Based on an original idea by Toby Seckshund."

I also blame Bill Henning, Jazzed, David Betz, Lonesock, and recently Andrey Demenev:)

Thrash with Holly? In Finland they go to the sauna and thrash themselves with Birch branches. Summer or winter, makes no odds.

If only I knew what I said.

Hey-Ho, another case of a brilliant sugestion that I had, or could have, without the slightest comprehension.

A 5/16" whitworth. Make a processor out of that thought (and no cheating by using a 3/8")

    Toby,

I was wanting to find the post of yours that inspired Zog. If only we could extract all your posts from jan/Feb 2010.

I was thinking of a award for the best Propeller product made by a forum member... That would be kind of neat.

It's particularly interesting what types of Propeller projects and code have been found most interesting by the group.

Sphinx, BST, and Kye's FAT engine are leading the current lists.

Personally, I'd like to forget the who voting on "people" stuff, (who cares! All of the regulars here play a part in making this fun for everyone.) and see a list various propeller projects, a list of the games, and a list of popular objects. It would have to be extremely complete to be interesting. This would be useful information me while I'm documenting objects, etc.

@OBC: If you can compile a list of the 10 best games and demos I'd make polls for it. I had never thought of games, and when it came to mind, neither have I thought of demos. You are right, the whole "people" thing isn't the most significant part, so project polls should dominate. If I add the extra polls, do you think I should extend the already-big deadline?

@sam_sam_sam: Your Welcome! It is to my knowledge that you have only started recently (in the last year) using the Prop? If so, you have come a long way. I cast my vote for you after I started the poll. :-)

@Microcontrolled, There's where you need to change your strategy just a little.. List all the games and let the voters sort them out. :)

That is what I'm doing! (for the games, anyway) You already have the list of the best here; up for the picking! http://www.propellerpowered.com/propellergaming/
I'll assemble a demo list soon.
