I am using an AV socket (4pin 3.5mm stereo with video). The cables are $1 on eBay. The connectors I have are t/hole and I had to buy 1000. I am willing to sell them individually or in small lots, but I do need to cover costs. www.4uconnector.com and the part is 18899. I will see if there is enough interest as I may get some cables so I can supply these with the sockets.\
There are two different versions of the video connection - apple ipod and others such as Nokia, video cameras, etc. I have gone for the video cameras etc as the cables are easier to buy. The pinout is from tip Red, White, Yellow(video), Ground. You can also use the same connector for stereo.
As for pcb manufacture, I have the similar minimum cost as you. I use www.ourpcb.com and they have a $80 setup and shipping is usually close to $40. Setup used to be $50. I have not seen anyone else comment on lower cost suppliers. Anyone??
I was thinking about this board this morning, and it occurred to me that you could add a set of male pins downward (inside track) on the Propeller Platform, moving this board to the bottom. As long as you aren't trying to fit into an existing case, you could expand to as much real-estate as needed.
@Schill: (Yes, I just realized I forgot the decouplers), here is the revised version. I have moved the pin headers to fit the position of the board. I always thought that it came with enough headers you could have them on both, but I guess not.
One or two rows of headers, either way will probably be ok. I do think that it's important to keep it within the dimensions of the propeller platform itself, though.
What template do you need? Doesn't www.gadgetgangster.com have Diptrace files on the site?
@OBC: Thanks OBC, I found the files on the GG site by following some links in the product page.
I will resume work on this tomorrow, tonight I'll try to finalize the project I've been working on for the past 2 weeks by writing an article on it for my blog. Then it's back to Diptrace!
