Well in case anyone was wondering what they looked like, I happened to find a picture of these "Forum Vigilantes" when browsing the Internet. Now we can watch out for them.......
RobotWorkshop, that's exactly what we need, their mug shots. I can identify 170 known perpetrators in the photo and now have each one on the Forum ignore list, per Vern's recommendation.

Ravenkallen, I think you violated the forum rules by posting this topic in the wrong forum. It really should be in the sandbox. :)
Dave Hein, such a report of albuquerquentious vilolation is totally innappodupious. I think this is a bit negacarsophogoncal because even if it's indicative of residing in a subquifensicated posterosistically condenmundum, you forgot to report it the Modallectinaffers as transguoniptonically substergongated.

    Humanoido,

How do you know I didn't report this thread the Modallectinaffers as transguoniptonically substergongated? Of course, my post was just to exemplify how silly this whole discussion is. Sometimes the complainers are as guilty as the people they are complaining about. It just depends on your perspective. Quite often it is better to ignore an annoying post than to feed the troll.

Computer Geek, of course we recognize these points, however, we are talking about something more serious, i.e. how can it just be a bad day posting when the same person repeats attacks on the same person on other days? We are not talking about the accidental "oops" when someone has no problem apologizing the next day. As Ravenkallen has pointed out, maybe the people who say "let it go" are the ones on the other light end of the stick. Jeeze, it's not that difficult to be polite.

You just made my point. My religious views makes "Jeeze" (slang for Jesus) to be taking the Lord's name in vain. I find that offensive, but I understand you meant no offense....I dont get upset; I just forget it. Even in the USA one word can mean 15 different things depending on where your from. Some people just have an abrasive personality and they really mean no harm in it.

First of all let me say. There is a line of conduct that should not be crossed. But the post referenced above does not even come close. I see nothing wrong with calling someone out that is breaking the rules.

If you are breaking the rules and someone calls you on it, don't cry about it. Own up to it like a man.

You'll lose more forum members if you make everyone walk on eggshells and sugar coat everything so we don't "offend" anyone.

I have seen this come up from time to time

To me unless you are just down right RUDE or just down right UNGRATEFUL for the help that some one is giving you what is the problem here BTW I have only seen this a few time I am very happy to say

To me if you have to walk on egg shell just because some one want to take it the wrong way who problem is that any way ........>>>>>>> That just me

I do agree that some time we need to be a little nicer to each other BUT some time that is not SO easy to do

I do agree that some people do tend to a little rough around the edges but to me who really care ........>>>>>>>>
That not to say that from time to time this has not happen to me because it has and it has P**** me O** too ...>>>>> I just step back a little and say is any of this my doing and some time it was just being lazy

I will not name names but they taught me some thing in this forum

Now saying this dose not mean that from time to time

I have sent a POST-er an PM and have said to them that if you are going to be that UNGRATEFUL for the person taking their time to help you Then NO ONE will help you if you keep doing it this way

I see nothing wrong doing this

I know what I said here above is going to make some people think that I am a little rough around the edges and you are right but that my point

There is a saying if it looks like a DUCK and walk like a DUCK and talk like a DUCK then it a REAL DUCK

In other words do they sound just down right RUDE or do they sound just down right UNGRATEFUL or they are a scammer or any thing that DOSE NOT have any thing to do with this hobby that we are all here for <<<<<........ Then YES do correct them this should not be allow at ALL

These are my two cents on this

ONCE AGAIN!!!! all i am saying is that we can act a little more agreeable with each other. Let us just think about my proposal a little and then put it behind us. I am not saying that we should go around acting like carebears or something(In fact, I often can't stand it when people tell me all of the bull when i just want to hear the truth)...Let us now bury this apparent waste of time..

    Peace out...

While I don't use the feature at all, the Forum has had an 'ignore' feature that insulates one from people they dislike.

I do admit that I have overstepped bounds from time to time and been 'policed' by indivduals that are not moderators. But the outcomes have nearly in entirety been an exchange of PMs and becoming friends.

I have to look at my own behavior in regards to 'bumping'. It is a grey area where one might become quite passionate about a topic and keep alive a thread that is self-centered.

Anyway, I'm happy to see an appeal for friendlier communication.
